New Career, New Cleaning System

Well with persuasion from some friends, I traveled them on a few demos and had a demo done in my own home. I've been very impressed with everything that I've seen and some tests that I've performed on my own. Therefore I am leaving Filter Queen and will now be representing Rexair Rainbow!!!

The new series 2 speed non carbon brush Hurricane motor is a machine that does practically everything!! The demo that my friends did at my house pulled so much junk out of my air after just running the machine on High speed for a few seconds!! They then dumbfounded me again by cleaning up salt and puddles on the floors left by shoes that had snow melted off of them. I was headed to get paper towels and they cleaned up the mess spot free with the upholstery nozzle on the Rainbow!!!

After learning about it and realizing the health benefits it could have for my allergies and Sleep Apnea I decided to make the investment. Here's my new personal Rainbow E2 below cleaning the air in my bedroom!!! I've now owned it for about 49 hours and it's been running for about 45 out of those 49 of those hours cleaning my air!

Funny how I spent 8 months with Filter Queen waiting to win a Defender and I haven't even done a single demo yet with Rainbow and I made an investment into the product! But I consider this an investment towards my health and not as a hobby machine. No filters or bags to buy every 6 months or even in a year and it washes the air with water!!!!!! Just like brushing teeth and showering, everything is cleaner with water!! It's a life saver. My primary reason to buy this machine is the air cleaner mode. Being able to use machine as humidifier, vaporizer, mop, carpet shampooer, dry deep cleaner are just huge bonuses that better substantiate the value an price point!! A particle scanner on the exhaust of the Rainbow is at 0 and 0 as there are 2 numbers displayed on the scanner for particle size and amount of particles in a cubic foot. I am hoping to have great sales and win a free unit too though, I can possibly sell that and feel like it's paying me back from this. We'll see when the time comes. Nasty Stuff!!

After about 3 nights of not running a vacuum, this is what the Rainbow got out of my bedroom!! Used it tonight for the first time with power nozzle.

My room was last done on Wednesday with my Eureka Rotomatic 1784B which did a fantastic job!! I love that machine and I even dusted all of my furniture with the Eurekas dusting brush that night too!

But look at this!! In real life it looks like chunky, very terribly brewed light tea.

The street sweeper like edge brushes leaves a very unique print on the mark. But the entire area, edge to edge and beyond from this machine looks terrific with all carpet strands standing up nicely!!

A Hoover for John!!

Primarily I want the Rainbow as my new air cleaner!! The brush less 2 speed motor gives the unit the ability to run 24/7!! The only filter on the system is washed every 6 months approximately and is gauged to last about 8 years in most households. No bags, no filters to replace.

Don't worry John, my Hoovers will still run! The Hoover PowerMax Supreme cleaned the living room today while the Rainbow was cleaning the air upstairs!! Yes that is a Hoover Windtunnel S3630 power nozzle you see the edge of next to the TV stand.

All but one!!

A friend of that is another collector and also now a coworker cause I joined him at Rainbow, was curious but didn't think he'd like a Hoover Celebrity. So I insisted to try one and asked which one I should bring over. He said the blue. So he cleaned the second floor of his house with the blue S3141 Hoover Celebrity IV Elite while I cleaned the first floor of his house with his Rainbow E2. It was great practice for me with the Rainbow as I need to get used to all of the tools and capabilities of the Rainbow. Mike enjoyed using the Hoover Celebrity so much though that I decided to let him keep it for a few more days and keep having fun!!

However, the rest of all my canister cleaners fit into this picture that I took today, which was prompted by a response of canister vacuums on a Facebook page. They are in no particular order. The Rainbow despite being the newest and most expensive and a different category of cleaning devices all to itself is in the back row since it's the tallest of all.

Congrats on your rainbow purchase I like mine as well, though I don't like putting the hours on it as a air purifier. My one piece of advice I would give you to think about is to just replace the hepa and not wash it. When you think about it when the water hits the fine dirt particles on the hepa media it creates mud basically and can actually clog it up, just my experience since you can find the filters relatively cheap. Also never let the water get real dirty keep dumping it, that will help greatly in extending the life of your hepa and keep down the number of particles going in the fan. I can do my whole house and the separator is spotless, if its real dirty and I didn't change the water often the separator would have the dirt. Just my two cents since I'm an owner of a d2, d4 SE PE, e2 one speed , e2 two speed gold and the new e4 onyx.

I'm glad that HOOVERS will STILL take their proper place of honor. I also commend you on the proper placement of that (cough, excuse me... Rainbow)..... in the back row. You used a (cough. darn that dust.Rotomatic??? hmmmm . Well, as the man said as he started the rollercoaster. "There ya go"!.

You KNOW I'm tthinking up all SORTS of things to tell you.
"I'm always chasing rainbows"..................Where's that HOOVER power nozzle? "Somewhere OVER the rainbow". Will you store your rainbow....... outside. over a mountain? (Running somewhere in the Pocono Mountains)
I just van't find it. the rainbow connection. (Sorry Barb and Scott) I HAD to do it. lolol.

Question

If you also have a d2 (what ever the chrome top model with eureka style power nozzle is), I'd like to how the newest rainbows with their power nozzle compare to the old chrome top with their eureka style power nozzles. other attachments are also welcome to be compared. Love my chrome tops though I haven't used them much.

2011Hoover700, my friends that persuaded me to Rainbow have the new version and a much older Rainbow with the Eureka power nozzle. We will do a cleaning performance test sometime. We did do an emissions test with a particle scanner. The filtration on the older Rainbow is nowhere near as good as the current model. I don't remember the numbers on the scanner for the old unit but the new Rainbow displayed 0 and 0. It doesn't get better than that!!

Oh you have such a way of describing things, I love it!!! My primary interest in purchasing the Rainbow was for cleaning my air. We're approaching 93 hours of ownership and it's been running for about 90 of those hours. The Rainbow is also neat because the one machine requires no filters or bags to change but will mop floors, shampoo rugs, clean air, aromatize in addition to normal everyday cleaning.

I've been told by Williamr1248 that the best way to experience my Rainbow is to use it exclusively for several months. Well I must apologize to Rob Mitchell but that's not going to be possible. My Hoovers will continue to run!! I have my other Hoover Celebrity back now and it's gotten a fair bit of use since its return home. The Convertible Elite would get more use if I'd replace the fill tube on it with the better designed A Tube. That machine has the first designed A tube and it doesn't do well with getting all of the dirt into the bag!! The PowerMax just did my living room on Saturday and my Windtunnel canister cleaned my clients house on Friday as the Eureka Express I had there is not powerful enough and extremely time consuming for accomplishing the task.

I'm glad you're staying creative John!! You can think of whatever nicknames and tales you want for the Rexair Rainbow E2 and of course bring out the holy water if it should ever make an appearance in Pittston!! Although a water cleaning system being cleansed by Holy Water, hmmm that's interesting isn't it!!!! The good luck thoughts are highly appreciated!! It's terrible weather for D2D sales right now!! Trying to hang flyers while ice skating down driveways and clinging to railings since steps aren't shoveled, a place to park the car on the side of the road in unfamiliar territory hoping it's not a ditch and of course the wonderful 10 degree temperature. Oh what a terrible mix!!! To add on I was sick this past weekend as well. Woke up Friday morning at 5:30AM with sore throat and as the day went on headache and fever decided to spoil my fun as well. Ended up going to bed with 102.4 fever on Friday night!!! Sunday I was feeling much better but then more snow came about, we got about 4" on Sunday!

Rob,
Hope you are feeling better. We have terrible winter weather here in the Midwest too. Not an easy time to be outside for any reason.
My suggestion was ONLY for test purposes but I think you already understand the difference.
I got rid of my machines last year but kept a few of my favorites. This Hoover Spirit was a Christmas gift years ago and it is a keeper. It is the deluxe model with the Quadraflex power nozzle. A very good rug cleaner but not so good with filtration To be fair, it was made 25 years ago and then filtration would not have been the top consideration on a mid priced canister. When I use it now, I just put a new bag in every time. I think it is a very well designed machine and I love the color combination.
The test was what I needed to convince me of the difference. I was a very hard sell but it has made a big difference in the allergies. As much as the older machines leaking dust, I think in my case, it was messing with the dust when I would attempt to empty or change a bag.

Matt, Thank you very much!! I'm trying to get started and do a good deal of advertising and the snow on the ground with lousy temperatures makes that quite difficult.

Rob, Thank you again for the very nice note. I apologize for not getting back to you!! As much as I'd love to experience what a Rainbow could do by eliminating the use of carbon brush run motors in the house, I still love the sound and feel of running my Hoovers. I did my living room last night with my Celebrity canister and I used the Celebrity again this morning on the steps. I had hoped to do steps and second floor last night but got into other things. The second floor needs a vacuuming again. Not sure what I'll use.

I am feeling better but do have a cough that likes to sneak out. Coughs are so useless in my mind. It all just needs to go away. I'd feel fine if the coughs would stop which would eliminate any occasional throat discomfort. Other than my bedroom carpet and the air I have not cleaned any other surfaces of my townhouse with it yet.

Any older system Rainbow I would not have anywhere near the same liking for. I made the decision for this one after testing it with a particle scanner to see what the emissions were to effectively rate for my primary intended use of the machine as an air cleaner. The vacuuming capability with power nozzle is terrific and I haven't done comparisons yet to see what's left behind but I consider it on par with my others in the house. I am very fussy about what cleaners to keep. They all need to groom well, clean well and maintain airflow well. I'm very happy with my Hoover PowerMax, Windtunnel, Dimension 1000's, Celebrity's, Convertibles, Power Drive and Eureka Rotomatic for doing those things. My allergies tolerate all of those machines well even though I know that overall filtration with most of those is said to not be very good. My allergies have not tolerated any Oreck I've ever tried which is about 8 different models from various time periods including newest XL21 style. Some Kirbys, a Eureka ESP with F&G bag, a Eureka WorldVac canister, a Hoover Elite soft bag upright--there's goofy holes in bottom of plastic bag housing support so air doesn't have to pass through the cloth outer bag!!! So I am worrisome of every machine I try hoping that it is ok with my allergies and I don't need medication.

I am not saying anything against the Rainbow, and in fact I own the previous model and am waiting to pounce on the next new model one I trade in but.. If air quality is a huge issue, why not spend 899 and get an IQ Air cleaner?

Out of all the things I have ever bought or sold, buying my IQair Healthpro Plus was the best purchase I ever made.. I sleep better at night and I don't have to take allergy pills anymore.

Like I said, I am not saying anything against the rainbow. I like the way the digital ones work, I like the power they have. When people come into the store with air quality complaints and want to look at air cleaners, I tell them to start with the best filtration vacuum they can, then purchase the air cleaner next. Now, I sell Riccar, but thats not the point. The point is yes, you want to start with your soft surfaces that hold contaminants but if its to the point of sensitivity issues, wouldn't something made specifically for that work better in the long run?

Oh and as far as the defender is concerned, they leak. The material the media filters are made out of sheds. I could never get the sales guys defenders to drop below 35k on my particle scanner. The Rainbow will do a far superior job cleaning air than the defender will. But the next step is the IQ.

Just wanted to ask I guess. Have a great day and congrats on the new rainbow.. I've been thinking about signing up as a rep so I can get a new one.

Oh a side note: I replaced the filters on my Grandmother's 1700p canister I gave her and about 3 months and two bag changes later, the filters were still pulling a 0 on the particle scanner. Every Radiance and Brilliance I sell pulls 0 when it leaves here and pulls 0 4-6 months later if the bags are changed properly. My vibrances can't even pull 0. I haven't checked my rainbow yet, but then again, I use random vacs at home when I feel like testing something out. I'm using a Magnesium RS Oreck right now and it is pulling 0 on the meter but thats because the bags I am using are expensive. 1 8-pack is nearly 50 bucks for this 5 stage + odor control bag I found. I use the RS because its quick to pickup cat hair and maneuvers around my tight apartment nicely.

<span style="font-family: helvetica;">Rob, congratulations on your new career with Rainbow!  FQ is indeed an excellent machine, but personally I've always preferred the hydrofiltration system of the Rainbow over the filter cone system of the FQ.  As you may recall, I have a D4CSE that I use from time to time, and simply could not imagine parting with -- but just like you my Hoovers (and my Euro-vacs as well) will continue to run in my household!</span>
