EurekaPrince: I disagree with that statement...the hose is pretty lightweight and very flexible. Not heavy at all - lighter, in fact that many 'traditional' cloth hoses. It's true that it's not constructed in the 'old' way - good thing, too, as we know older hoses are prone to hardening and leaking with age!

Hey Jack...thanks for this correction...
not sure if it was you who made the earlier comment on the hoses.....but it would be interesting to hear what other Europeans are saying about them too. Somewhere on this forum, I read that someone was not too fond of them. If I remember incorrectly, then great! I actually love the retro look of the hoses, and if they work better than the old ones, all the better.

I have that machine, I got mine in impeccable condition from work.
It was traded in on a panasonic, im personally not that impressed with the fact that its a bagless, and how it cleans. Although it seems to be a somewhat good quality made machine.

How well it cleans depends greatly on what surface you're using it on - I can't see it doing well on thick American carpeting. I find the brush is too soft for deeper-pile carpet, but it does well on medium and lower pile, and bare floors.
I'm assuming your one will be rated at 1200w at most? My one is 1700w - although that's not an automatic guarantee of better performance, I'm sure the extra 500w must make some difference.
Aside from that, yes, it's a nicely made machine. If you don't like 'bagless' then you're not going to like it. I'd greatly prefer it if it was multi-cyclonic, because I don't like having to clean the messy filter every time I empty it, but it has a huge bin, and lots of well thought-out design touches. The edge-cleaning system is very clever, and works really well.
