Appears to be pretty good for this class of vacuum. I really like swivel, and it's looks much better than most Bissells i have seen.

I love how

they make it look so easy to empty that dirt container. But this looks better than my Shark Rotator which is NOT multi-cyclonic. Why Shark went back to one cyclone is beyond me.

This looks nice. I wonder if you can open the dirt container from the top as well if you ever needed to clean it?

I tried the Powerglide Liftoff, and it did a great job of cleaning. Had a very aggressive brushroll that really beat the hell out of the carpeting. This model addresses the things I didn't like about the previous model, which were mainly the stretch belt and the lousy filtration system. I hope it comes with a decent dusting brush. Looks like a winner!

I think the reason why Shark switched from multi-cyclonic to a single cyclonic system was for reliability. One thing I have noticed with most multi-cyclonic systems (note I am NOT saying dual-cyclonic) is that most of them do clog eventually within the cyclone chambers. I'm sure we have all seen YouTube videos of the Dyson DC17 cyclone chambers being clogged up & being cleaned out. With my Bissell Healthy Home & it's 9x multi-cyclonic action, when I empty the bin, if I separate the cyclone assembly, take the cyclone assembly outside & just lightly tap it on the ground, there's a LOT of fine dust that comes out. And if I take a vacuum with a blower & use the hose with a crevice tool on the end & blow the cyclone assembly out, it creates a HUGE dust storm.

What I am thinking is that Shark's reasoning was, remove the multi-cyclones & let all the dust go to the foam filters, & make the consumer clean filters more, in favor of a more reliable design that won't cause repair issues years down the road.

Very cool!

I'm liking the looks of this new Bissell! I bet it'll be a pretty formidable competitor against the current bagless machines on the market! But, the cyclone setup just screams DYSON! What do you think, James? Will there be a lawsuit soon? 

 


 


I've never cared for bagless machines, but this looks like a cleaner that I'd be interested to try out in person someday.

would it be possible

to take the cyclone chamber apart and vacuum it with another vacuum instead of blowing it out?

I used my Rainbow to clean my shark every few days...LOL

It is possible to take the cyclone chamber apart to clean it. I have done it once with my Bissell Healthy Home. And there are some multi-cyclonic vacuums on the market where they are designed to be taken apart & cleaned....Panasonic & Kenmore multi-cyclonic bagless vacuums immediately come to mind here.

However, on my Bissell Healthy Home, you do have to take out quite a few screws, & make sure you are careful not to break the thin plastic, & get everything in just right when you re-assemble. The Dyson multi-cyclonic systems looks even worse to me. If I owned a Dyson & cleaning out the multi-cyclone system was a concern for me, in fear of breaking anything, I would just take it into a vacuum shop & pay the bill for a pro to do it.

Shark Cyclones

On the purple navigator model I had the cyclone assembly was meant to be removed and
cleaned. Easily done, I soaked it in a bucket and used lots of water to rise. Copious amounts of mud
was my reward.

Saw one today at Kmart

My time was very limited. It is noticably smaller than i thought, like a slightly larger Shark Vacuum model. Should have put something it the pic for scale.
The vacuum seems nicely built but my 5 year old was roaming around the isles and i had to go.
