Duel sanitronic 50
If that's a DS50, where is the lighted kirby logo? Is that a sanitronic 7?

Now that you mention it I believe it is I didn't know there was a 7 Google suggested 7 as I thought it was a typo I always thought the dual 50 was introduced right after the
model 519

it IS a Sani-7!
Notice how the trim is a dark tan, and the rubber bag topper only states 'Sanitronic'. This came between the 561 (last of the 500 series in 1961) and the 1964 Dual-Sanitronic 50. Those Sani-7's had the most interesting trim, they varied from a light fan to an almost bronze color! Your example appears to be one of the bronze models. The main difference between the Sani-7 and the Dual-Sanitronic 50 is the variations in tan, and of course, the lighted headlamp lens. However, the lighted lens was ONLY seen on the 1964 introduction model of the Dual-Sanitronic 50, likely to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our beloved KIRBY! If you can get the serial number, vacuumland's serial-number-guru, Ben Edge, can tell you a manufacture date in a heartbeat!
The HOOVER is also nice, but be careful with the brush-roll, they're impossible to find now! Someone should really produce a line of replacement brushes!

The 562's original color scheme is unique, different from any other model. All the plastic and rubber trim (except for the wheels) are a metallic copper color -- including the handle grip, bag top, switch cover, handle lock button, bumper trim and headlight trim. The wheels are the tan color that Kirby named "sirroco" when the Sanitronic VII came out.
The original cord is white with tan plugs, the only Kirby model ever to have a white cord, and the only one other than the 516~561 (gray cords with red plugs) series to have a two-tone cord.
The "Sani-Pocket" and "Sani-Scraper" appeared for the first time on the 562 -- a zippered pocket on the back side of bag where you put your hand in to dislodge trapped dirt with a cardboard scraper on the interior side of the Sani-Pocket.
Here are some photos showing the unique cord, as well as comparisons of the copper-colored 562 trim with the sirroco-colored Sanitronic 7 and Dual 50 trim.

You're absolutely right about the 562's bronze color! That replacement tan cord threw me off! You can't win them all!
I love those older white-and-tan & grey-and-red two-tone cords! Those white cords are both beautiful and rare!

You forgot to mention that the Dual Sanitronic 50 was the first Kirby to have a 2 speed motor. The Sanitronic 7 and all previous models had only a single speed motor.
