It's cold and rainy here today so to brighten up the housework I decided to get my new (to me) gold Super J and B8 polisher out to do the work. I bought a Super J new back in the day along with the B8. Have always kept the B8 and it has been polishing the floors for all these years. Of course, I got rid of the J and always missed that machine. Some may not like the color but I love it. I gave up on finding the matching hose (gold with a blue tracer) and so went ahead and got another J and am using it with an updated replacement hose. Glad to have these matching machines back together and brightening the day.

Super J!!!!!

Fred ...I remember BEGGING my Mom to by a Super J in 77 or 78, I cant remember the exact year, but instead she bought a Celebrity 2 Powermatic, which I HATED!!!! Still love a Super J!

Fred, what a beautiful ensemble!! Sure to make housework fun! By the way that is a beautiful shine you have on those floors!!

Love the glitz of those Super J's. I was so happy when I found mine was it last year or so especially since I thought they were never sold here but apparently were for awhile.. Still they're not all that common in these parts

I have a fair bit of nostalgia for the Super J; loved to use them back in the '70's and saw a lot of them in use. Funnily enough, never saw one with the combo tool riding on top; I guess people never used them or lost them.

For Some Reason

This machine has always been special to me. Thinking about it, it was the first Lux that I bought brand new. They really were wonderful. Found this one in great shape. Rerun of one of the pictures of the day. Have that upright and the Gold L as well. I'll have to get them all together for a group shot!

Love it

Your Super J is gorgeous! It's not my fave color, but what a vacuum! Yours look perfect, so even a color that doesn't excite me gleams! Congrats on having that!

Those are gorgeous machines! I want to get my hands on one of those B-8 polishers... I've never tried one out... and we have that huge basement floor to keep polished... Although I do currently have 3 Hoover polishers dedicated to doing that work. I have one that does the first polishing of the hardened wax, then another one with felt pads to give a bit of a sheen, then a third with lambswool pads to give the high-lustre. It's a job to do, but thanks to Terry -- back in May, I learned how to do it the right way!

@hoovercelebrity - You really can't find a better 'domestic' floor polisher than the Electrolux B7 & B8. The machine is heavy, so it really does a fast job of melting the wax and working it into floor. And its large swath makes quick work of large spaces. The Electrolux Air-Powered Floor Polisher and Scrubber comes into play for smaller areas.

Here's what is, to me, the most beautiful of the series. It was the first B8, the first model to have rug shampooing capability. I just love the festive 1960s starbursts on the shampoo tank!

btw, the first version of the B7 came out in 1959 during the run of the Model F. It's pretty rare as it was only made for a year or so.
