Need some help please!

Right so iv'e been tempted to take apart a clean air machines motor (don't worry it's an old burnt out motor) but I need some help as iv'e never taken apart a clean air motor before. Done dirty fans before though lol.

So heres where i'm a bit stumped on ~

How does one remove the fan? Do I e.g use a vice to clamp the shaft (Oh my that sounds wrong!) Ahem! Rudeness over - and remove the nut at the fans?

Any advice and help appreciated!

Anyways, I am going by memory of a Dyson motor which should be similar.
Remove the metal plate at the bottom
The fan is exposed, remove the nut as its screwed onto the armature rod thing. The fan should come off, then there's screws behind the fan and it comes apart a bit more :/ sorry I dont do it really lol

This all depends on what cleaner you have. If it's an Electrolux for example you are never going to get the fans off. They are riveted on.

The Turbopower 1000 is one that I would like to do (after iv'e had alot of experience ) I was thinking of maybe doing the lux 616E's motor sometime (if I can get it to stop tripping the fuse) One I was going to do was the Panasonic MC-E54.

Do I remove the field first or the fans first? Just that I don't want to mess anything up.

Try google. or the manual. I wouldnt know, since i only get to the fan and clean it like that. Never done a direct air machine, but i did one bypass machine

Very few clean-fan motors were built with a veiw to them being taken apart, so it's going to be a challenge for you. But it will be interesting too and you will find out more as you do it.

I have taken apart LOADS of Turbopower 2 motors, they are pretty easy peasy to work on.


You just need a spanner or socket spanner, vice or vice grip, flat head screw driver and a Philips/posy drive.
