My Silverado with PN4A

I bought this Silverado because it was in excellent condition and had been refurbished. The paint is not original or the original gray, but I liked the bronze tone to the gray and bought it. It looks more silver gray in natural light. It was damaged on the back left corner due to improper packing and was dropped at some point during transit which broke the corner of the top, pushed the cordwinder into the canister and left a dent in the tanks underside and break in the metal piece that is riveted to the tank that holds the wheel on. A shame such an excellent example is now damaged due to being careless. I went through it again myself to clean to my expectations and replaced wheels, hose, and wands. It is a nice vac. I like the PN4A.

I think that is a nice PN. I like the white lettering too. It turned out to be as nice as the pictures I saw of it before I purchased it. I did go completely through it even though it had been refurbished and replaced all the "use" pieces so it would be fresh. I use the Perfect HEPA bags in all my "tanks".

Makes me sick that such a great Silverado was damaged due to not caring. It's funny that when I left a message on a vac group about careful packing one time, this one person went off on my mentioning to be carefull when packing. It is not that hard to wrap bubble wrap around the contact points or at least the ends when shipping instead of laying a heavy vacuum in a light box with some loose paper and peanuts around it. It must have been dropped or crushed. I will still love my Silverado that is flawed as am I.

I like the Hepa bag due to my Tonkinese and air quality. The vacuum I am still working on is my profile pic right now which is a gray 1205 that was a reburb by Electrolux in the 80's. I like the color gray a lot and think this machine is really cool because it has all gray trim and the same rocker on off switch and cord hole circle trim as the Silverdo. I bought this 1205 from another really nice guy and told him to keep the shampoo attachment and hose as they looked really bad and rusted. This one is taking more time due to damage caused by it being used with the shampoo head a lot apparently and it sucked up water at some point and even had surface rust on the inside of the rear edge of the tank when I took out the NASTY cordwinder. The cordwinder went in the trash, but I saved the back cover to the cordwinder and ran it through the "tough scrub" and "sanitize" cycle in the dishwasher and it came out nice. I bought a new cordwinder for it and will swap the plain plastic tan for the matching light/dark gray cover. I want a gray PN1 or a PN6 to go with it. Time will tell. This is my favorite as it is my "underdog" 1205 and that makes me like it even more. Tyler

sweet i cant wait see them done. Have you clean cordwinder before? I think mine needs cleaning sometimes cord wont go fully in. Yes I saw 1205 hiding. By the way I add u on facebook if that ok with you??

Clorox wipes work great on cords! I use them on all vacuum parts to sanitize and clean. Unless it can be safely put in the dishwasher on tough scrub and sanitize function. The best way to clean a cord is on a hard surface like a countertop. Secure the tank so it does not roll off or set on floor and pull cord all the way out. Go over the cord twice with a few wipes put together so the cord is damp and the grime is being disolved and loosened, then keep running the wipes firmly back and forth with the cord taught and clean in three to four foot sections until all the grime is gone. Clorox wipes do a better job because they will even clean off old paint scuffs. Just be careful if you have pets to wipe and dry the floor, etc. after because those wipes are poisonous to them. Tyler
