Oh that's a nice one. Much too nice to hide away completely in the closet so should be left in discrete view to catch the eye of non-vac collecting friends. They won't be able to resist commenting or wanting to touch it. Then you can snap at them if they go to touch it.. "keep your fingers off it" LOL

Dual 80 Looks better than new

Hi Mike What can i say un real. Is that a factory rebuild from Kirby VERY, VERY NICE. I am a Kirby collector and fan of Kirby for years. Funny i LOVE the dual 80 color. I find people either love it or hate it ( WHATS THEIR TO HATE)I wish Kirby would go back to the small head it would make the machine lighter and their would be no need for Teck Drive either. Well ENJOY IT. Take care Doug

She was in beautiful shape when I got her from Roger Lequea. Thank you Roger. <br
No, she wasn't rebuilt by Kirby, but by a man who owns a small vacuum repair shop. He is the same person who refurbished Fred Nelson's 519 (or was it a 516?). Fred, please correct me if I'm wrong. <br
Fred Nelson gave me the NOS bag, bag top and cord. I found the other NOS parts on eBay--everything from the bag guard, to the sticker on the handle, the wheels, the bumper, and the on/off switch. <br
Greg Nunn shepherded the vacuum through the repair shop. Now, it really looks showroom new. I hope you all enjoyed the photos. <br
The Dual 80 is my favorite because of the color and size. It's such an iconic look. Now, though, I have the bug to get a Dual 50 and a Classic III. So, keep your eyes peeled for me. <br

I suggest...

....getting one of those short marble columns. Place a round over it, covering that with a tasteful velvet. Then set this work of art atop the display structure. A soft and semi-focused can light upon it...possibly even a glass encasement <br
