My new Seabo E3 premium

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

I have decided to get a K3 Premium first as I agree with Seamus that there shouldn't be any noticeable difference in the performance between the two. Yes, the E3 looks more modern, but I want a K3 before Sebo discontinue them and I can get one for around £220 which is good value.

I had the 1800 watt K3 Premium a few years ago, but sold it when I needed some extra cash, though I always intended to replace it, as I liked the combination of a compact vacuum with a power head.
In the meantime, I may get one of the lower end straight suction E models.

Decided....

Hey Guys
Having just seen an E1 in the plastic so to speak in a Euronics dealer in Hastings its bulkier particularly in height than the K so I don't think I'm going to rush. Roger the K3 seems to have gone from both the Co-op website and their Ebay shop if that's where you were looking.

Mostly the advantages to the E series is that it is no longer fitted with the auto cord pull pull rewind. Also the straight T tool can be used on the handle or tubes without crevice. It is also a great deal quieter and glides a lot better due its more flush generic shape. Of course you can forgo all of that if the K3s are used primarily with the ET1 all of the time even if the E series offers 0.5 litres more on the easier to fit dust bag.

Im toying with the purchase of the 1200 watt model next. The added power means it may become a rarer model in time if the 900 watts law is followed in 2017. But then Im also very happy with the Miele S8 1200 watt I have.

sorry for the late reply but I really like this vacuum I'm so glad I gave sebo I try because this is my favourite bagged cylinder vacuum,I find it really easy to use even though it's got a powerhead I find it really easy to push it's just really easy to use and it's so quiet and is got very good airflow it spins a dyson turbo brush very fast if,if this cleans anything like felix I'll definitely give one a try, I'll certainly be happy to have one of those in my house but I still like dyson I still prefer bagless specially the kinetic and I do prefer the build quality of the dyson but the build quality on the sebo is fantastic but I do wish the bags were bigger because i actually filled up in 2 to 3 days but I didn't vacuum for a few days and haven't got my dyson so I have been using one of my old vacuums from the loft before I got this.this one I'm not gonna keep but it is my birthday soon I want to get one of these for my birthday but get extras like the dusting brush and the mini turbo brush the perfect set,and my friend really likes is well.I gotta say I really like sebo.

I know probably a bit of this is miss spelt but I did this in a bit of a rush so haven't got time to go for all of it.

I wouldn't get too excited about your SEBO, as vacuum experts on this site claim your "plasticvac" is disposable like a tube of toothpaste and simply inferior in everyway to superior metal built royals and kirbys. I mean I use my Felix and every time I use it I just think oh gosh this is going to go bang soon because you know, SEBO's are so poorly made aren't they because they are not made of METAL!

Well. there's always something called a difference of opinion, Oli.

Whilst there will always be stalwart members who adore metal vacuums, a lot on here also love Miele vacs. IMHO most if not all SEBO vacuums are better built. Whether or not they agree is just an opinion, but even this new K1 has better plastics than my Miele S8!

I totally agree with Nar on that sentence!

Why is it that those in the minority of us that own and love their metal vacs like Kirby and Royal get totally trounced upon if we should, Heaven Forbid, create a post that in any way compares our experience with our metal vacuum to their plastic vacuums? Do suppose there is some jealousy involved on their part. That's what it seems like to me.

Hear's something else that "Grinds my Gears"

We always hear over and over from those who own plastic vacs tell us how heavy a Kirby is to move and maneuver. I can truthfully say that my 11.5 pound plastic Hoover WindTunnel Air is much harder to push and pull than my 23 pound Kirby Sentria which glides almost effortlessly across the carpet due to it's Tech Drive.

So my rant is over. For now.

American Vs European

Well it seems to me that unless its a brand made in the U.S, nothing else gets a look in. When guests and non-members come on here looking for a vacuum cleaner, its a constant push to Kirby the brand or anything else American. This patriotic push can only go so far.

Oh don't cut us down if we should ever advise on something made in China!!

However, I must point out Stan, that in previous posts on here, even in Dyson threads, there's always ONE or TWO U.S members who constantly interrupt the topic with how wonderful their METAL vacuums are.

Perhaps then that is one reason alone to why you may feel your choice of brand/type of vacuum is being quashed.

That is exactly my point. I get this is a discussion thread, but they always seem to get hijacked by some American screaming that their Kirbys are simply superior in everyway, and shaft and batter anything else, not understanding that people either one do not have the money to buy a Kirby and don't want a second hand one as they are not always freely available outside the US (yes, the US isn't the only country in the world) and 2; people want something that is easier to sue. There is more to the wright of a vacuum than pushing and pulling it.

That is my problem with some people on here. I have never been on a Kirby thread to bash them and say how much greater my Sebo or dyson is, yet it is mainly the same two or three people that do it otherwise, and it really winds me and a few other members up, and it doesn't turn into a discussion, but actually turns insulting, (frail Europeans, superior American built products) No one in their right mind takes you seriously.

I'm with Oli & Nar on this one. Now, I'm not tarnishing every member with the same brush and I do get that people are rightly fans of different cleaners & brands - that makes us interesting and makes for a much wider knowledge between us. And I do agree that there is definitely a lot of cheap, crap plastic vacs on the market.

HOWEVER...

There are a select few members who insist on injecting American made beasts into every single discussion, even where it's completely irrelevant, and who continually shoot down and disregard anybody who dares to disagree with them. Are people really so blinkered and so narrow minded to realise that no one single brand or model will suit everyone?

Just because something is made in the U.S. doesn't automatically make it better than something made anywhere else. A turd is still a turd no matter who's arse it came from. America is not the world.

A higher price tag doesn't automatically mean you'll get a better machine.

Just because a cleaner has a metal construction doesn't make it a higher performer. Although it does make for a more sturdy machine, it doesn't automatically mean it will clean better.

No one machine is perfect, every home and individual has different needs and I am constantly amazed at how many people appear to have no ability to be subjective and impartial.

I used an E1 machine and loved how quiet it was. So glad they produce steel tubes as I was not a fan of the plastic ones on Dysons.

If the E3 is like the 700 watt Felix I used then I will be very impressed because the Eco Felix really did impress me. But I can't stand cylinders and only use them when visiting family to vacuum out my Citroen.

I'm a fan of dusting brushes so will contact Sebo about their decision to remove them.
