So I couldn’t resist, being a Rainbow dealer I finally decided to get the new SRX And I must say I am quite impressed. It has a four-speed motor along with a timer for the air purification system. The new powerhead grooms the carpet very nicely and the machine is much quieter than previous models. It now has a hydraulic system to where the machine lifts up and you slide the bowl in place. The powerhead adjust very well to various types of carpeting including a pretty thick shag rug I have in my living room. The main unit is actually smaller and lighter weight than previous models. All in all they done a great job with this model in my opinion.

Omg Yyyaaasss! Finally someone who posted their SRX machine. Anyway you can post pics of the owners manual both for the machine and power nozzle? Also did you get any optional accessories to go with?

Manual and accessories

Accessories such as the Supermop / Rainjet, shampooer, mini powerhead, etc. are the same as the previous model. So my accessories I had from my E2 black fit. Attached pictures of the manuals. The new things they include standard are the wet pick up head, and the pet grooming brush.

how does the mini jet fit? I ask this because the hose connection piece change so wouldn't the mini jet for the e2 not work with the SRX due to the fact that the SRX has a new magnetic connection. omg thanks for posting the pics. It does include the hard floor brush. Look closly behind the nozzle/ on the side of the machine. How come the SRX doesn't have the 4qt capacity?

Please post pics and videos of EVERYTHING!!

There’s not enough RITALIN, ADDERAL, VALIUM, or XANAX to keep some of these window lickers from going into grand mal seizures! I hope that they will start posting about something else and we can now put the SRX to rest.

They stopped making the mini jet

They stopped it for the E2 black within the last month because I needed one for a customer and we couldn’t order it, so that’s the only one I know that don’t fit, but everything that connects to the wands is the same. I’m not for certain but the water tank on the SRX seems smaller. I don’t know about a 4 Quart basin.

I had bought mine a little over two weeks ago, but was hesitant to talk about it since it still isn't official. I have already taken mine apart. I am pretty impressed with the build. I too want a four quart basin, I think it can be done with a modified taller base and taller basin. Motor is completely enclosed in a cast aluminum housing, still very serviceable. Impeller is a unique design. Board is no longer cooled by fan in main motor.

The new power nozzle is nice, more engaging in carpet with mild beater strips in the brush strips, amp draw is up quite a bit over previous model, glad they did away with the edge sweeper brushes.

I had bought the optional soft beater brushroll for my PN12 side belt, took the bearings off, pulled the brushstrips out, took the standard ones that came with the PN2E, pulled the bristles out where the braces in the cover were. That made the PN12 a lot more effective having the beater strip in there again.

I was wondering

The machine seems to get warmer than previous models, how is it cooled? Also do you think this will cause problems later on or did they remedy it with a better solution?

I do not believe it will cause any problems. The air from the suction impeller drives air over the cast aluminum motor housing, much like the D3A/C. If you take the water basin out, and turn the power on, you can hear the board cooling fan running by itself. It seems to draw in cooler air from down below.

Overall, a simple robust design.

Also, I found out a few programmed easter eggs in the buttons on top just playing around with it.

Another Question

Being I only had it this evening and haven’t looked closely does the machine still have a hepa filter? I looked somewhat and thought there was one but haven’t really investigated.

Seeing as how there are instructions for replacing the belt, I take it the new power nozzle isn't equipped with a geared belt? A geared belt shouldn't ever have be replaced. A shame they would regress back to a stretch belt when they finally saw the light and moved the belt to the side and put a geared belt on the previous nozzle.

I thought this too at first before I got one.

It’s actually almost like a serpentine belt in a car. It’s very high quality and seems reinforced. I can’t remember exactly what it would be called. Similar to an Oreck enduralife belt. The machine has an extra which is nice but it’s certainly not like the old style stretch belts of the SE and E series Gold and Blue and early E2B’s before the side mounted belt.

I almost had a demo scheduled for today but my distributor would not tell me the price over the phone. He was going to be in my area today(he's 200 miles from me) and wanted to stop by so i could take a look at it. I wasn't going to let him unpack it and not be able to reach a deal and then have to clean it and repack it. I just wasnt going to do that to him.

Can you confirm what i already suspect. The main unit does not come off the dolly for stairs correct?
