I bought this beauty! It is an Illinois-built 1989 Filter Queen 95X. Steel inner cone, AN96 power nozzle complete with boxes! Runs like a champ! Does anyone know the story on the floor tool in front of the boxes? I have been around these machines most of my life, and have never seen one! It does not hook up, do I need an adapter or is this a mismatched tool? It has the "pyramid" design, so it is an FQ tool. I paid $265 for the machine and due to how complete it is and how nice it is, I am not upset.

FQ looks amazing. Very rare to find boxes. Rug nozzle and lower wand are Rainbow. Slots on top were added about 1964 to improve air flow to carpet.
Thanks! I saw it and had to have it. I think what I will do is adapt that wand extension to fit my FQ machines because that tool would work well with them. I have 90% hard floors in my house, and would definitely use it. I use a power nozzle set all the way down, and really like that versus a floor brush. I will cut it with a grinder, then drill in and rivet a pin hookup to it because it is the correct diameter for a Filter Queen.

Raytheon made some nice machines, although from what I've read they've had some issues especially the latter ones before it's current company Alliance took over and addressed them. Despite that, I liked the Raytheon machines better because there were parts that are built to be serviced like the transmission versus just replacing them today. Especially when they were sold in other brands like Amana, Maytag, and GE that were alot cheaper to buy than under the SQ brand. I would've for certain bought an Amana over a SQ or my personal favorite this GE.

If I ever bought a different laundry set, Speed Queen is the only kind to buy!
Only buy the commercial Speed Queen. Their more deluxe household models have the same kinds of main board problems other brands have. The commercial model is more basic and more reliable. I was told this by a Speed Queen dealer / repair shop.

Also the Commercial Speed Queen washer uses and older agitation style than their newer top of the line model and the old one cleans clothes better in the opinion of some ( I have not tested them to know with certainty but there are videos out there on the subject ).
