You have shown us very many interesting cleaners, would you mind thanking the time to upload some pictures on your collection please as it would be great to be able to see then without having to search through the archive threads.

The link to do this is on the Vacuumland home page. Once uploaded you then ask Fred S (web master) if he will put a link in the collections page - I hope you will be able to make time to do this - it would be a great addition to the site

Fakir

Hi all anyone know if the Fakir Vacuum is or was sold in the UK, I would love one to replace my SEBO as a daily run-a-round. I have a Fakir polisher thats built like a tank but I've never seen a vacuum here

The Miele S142/43 was sold at John Lewis and House of Frasers tail end of the 1990s. I remember them well as I often wished I could have one and they were only available in mint green. Eventually I did get "The Alternative," as Miele called it here in the UK and I still have it and use it from time to time. It's okay but the newer bags are much better than the old IntensiveClean as dust has a habit of either falling down and clogging the main dust channel or just falls out anyway even if the rubber outlet piece in the dust channel is there to stop dust from falling out.

Also Miele UK used to sell an extension flexible hose that you could use with this stick vac but it is now very rare to get hold of.

Fakir in UK

Thanks for the link I just called Denis Rawlins but its not made anymore, pity its a mach for the polisher

Roger - thanks for the link. I think this is the same one Miele told me about a few months ago - but the original hose had a button release on the dust channel that connects to the main suction channel before the floor head, thus locking it onto the machine. That hose seems to be friction fit only.

Meile Stick S148....mint green,

Hello Folks,

I managed to negotiate the price of £40 for a display model from our local Euronics
dealership about three years ago...a great runaround!

I'll chime in too...

Here in Canada we had two versions. The first version I had was a Viking (Eaton's dept. store). It was beige and brown. The second was a Clarke 500, it was in "Clarke" red and black. I no longer have the machines.
