Well, finally after months of comtemplation, and like many of you here, I decided to take the plunge and acquire a Miele! My very first I might add too.

Here is the lovely Champagne with her hose, power nozzle and floor brush. She was at my door on Monday.

The power nozzle

It has five height setting, a reset switch, handle release foot switch, fluoresent headlight and telescoping wand.

I am quite impressed with the performance of this P/N. Right up there with, (almost!), with an Air-Way.

Large bag capacity with excellent filtration. Seals by user upon removal so no dust leakage! Tools are onboard in the compartment above.
(Tools like most these days are "average". But I don't think the average houseperson uses tools or attachments much anymore so they are not that important to the manufacturers.)

Miele vacuums

really are excellent -- very quiet, powerful suction. The only thing I don't like are the fairly cheesy attachments. I just don't see why machines that cost this kind of money don't have super-deluxe attachments.

Congratulations Charlie! I don't understand that small dusting brush either. In the 90's Miele had a perfectly good full size brush, and then went to this one. It can get frustrating when you're doing a lot of dusting at once, but the advantage is that the suction is so concentrated that it pulls dust out of deep crevices like nobody's business.

Now when are you gonna call me? :-)

Hey there Charlie!!!

Happy Birthday to you!!!!! I love giving myself vacuums for my birthday LOL!! I recommend it to everyone!!!I love Mieles too. I have an old Flamenco II. The suction on that one is amazing, i can just imagine what the new ones are like!!! Enjoy!

Nice one Charlie

I`m sure you will enjoy using the Miele, on this side of the pond I`ve used them all and they are by far the best for suction, quietness, reliability & style...

They are unique in offering a whole range of additional tools as well as the box standard ones that comes with it, the parquet soft floor tool is fab for getting rid of fine plaster dust on walls before decorating etc...the car clean & microset kits are an ideal "prezzies" and the extension hose I find a must have...thats the only gripe I have is that the hose is too short...but the wand is the only one I`ve ever used that i dont have to stoop down to use...

Enjoy, Mike

now we have twins!

Charlie I love my Champagne, and I'm not a canister person at all!
I love the quiet-ness of it, and it cleans very well!

Attachments

I'm a Miele nut, and the only attachment I'm not too wild about is the dusting brush. I agree with Andy; my White Pearl full size included a larger, oval dusting brush. I don't like the smaller one. The deluxe hose handle is great for using the floor attachments but not as good for handheld attachments. However, the Champagne can use the deluxe straight suction hose, which is #05269601. It's more flexible than the electric hose, and the handle makes using small attachments a lot easier. Andy can sell that to you, and it's worth it. It's not expensive. That's the benefit of your model. I have the Blue Moon and Silver Moon, so I can't use that hose because the speed controls are on the hose handles. Also, you might like the Universal Dusting Brush. That's what I use on most flat surfaces. Anyway, enjoy that machine! Happy birthday!

Many thanks from all the Birthday well wishers----just to clarify, the birthday was in January and it just took me a while to get these pictures on! The Miele was a purchase based on my company's profit sharing check.

Patrick, Happy Birthday to you too, since I think yours was just days ago. RE: the dusting brush, I haved this wonderful adapter that allows me to put different sized hoses or attachments together. Using it, I can put Air-Way, Electroux or Tri-Star tools on the Miele making it very versatile. It also allows me to use a Rug Rat which is great for the stairs and bedding, (to get the cat hairs off the bedspread and shams. They love sleeping there.)

The low noise level is one of the most striking things about it. Using the "auto" setting, I don't even think it runs at the 1200 watt level yet has more than adequate suction for vacuuming the carpet with that great power nozzle.

I've only had it 4 days now and really like the vacuum. I was very resistant to buying a Miele but, it just goes to show you CAN teach an old dog new tricks.

ANDY!!-- I will call you. I have not forgotten, just been kind of busy.

Happy Birthday Charlie

Happy Birthday. Glad you like your Miele. The Champagne is a great vacuum. I am very happy with mine. You can't beat the German engineering. It is very powerful and very quiet. Cheers to your birthday.

YOU WON'T BE DISAPOINTED

Dear Charlie,
Well it took you long enough from you when first used my Silver Moon in NYC. You finally took the plunge. You will not be disapointed. With all the toys that come and go from my collection the Miele will always be part of my steafast collection. In fact I still use it to do the deep cleaning. Best of luck.
Michael
