As far as I know, Brian, the Canadian subsidiary was sold off at the same time, but both countries continued with their own distinctive models until the 80's, and then things moved down south.
I just had a look at my AP 280, which is the latest machine I have before things moved to the States, and the notations are exactly the same as the earlier ones, i.e. "Made in Canada by Electrolux (Canada) Ltd, Pointe Claire, Que." The contemporaneous American models have the Consolidated Foods logo on them.
Others with more knowledge than myself will hopefully chime in.
BTW, Brad, the hose you have there looks in great shape; mine is unraveling like a sweater, but still has some suction.
