Yes, the Transit connect was built in Turkey. I still see even a few first generation ones tooling around. The last Focus was plagued with the awful dual clutch automatic from Mexico. Remember the Ecosport from Brazil? Stupid swinging rear door gate then a regular lift gate but a terrible seller.

The Transit Connect, at least the examples sold in the US, are made in Spain. In the US you could get Foci ( Focuses ) with a manual or a five speed automatic.

If you are a delivery driver or use the van for work ( plumber, electrician, locksmith ) the swinging double rear doors are the way to go. I wish I could have bought a passenger version of the Transit Connect in the US with the swinging double doors but those only came on the commercial cargo versions.
