Royal question please

You did an amazing job on that Royal. I have an 880 model that I bought new in the early 80s and its still going strong. I am going to polish it up after seeing what you did to yours. I have changed the brush roller once and belts and bulb and thats about it. It looks like your bulb is under a cover that lifts up just like mine. I can't remember how to get the darn bulb out and its burned out. I have only done it once and feel so foolish and posted a thread on Vintage but when I saw your thread I thought maybe I could pick your brain.

Thanks if you can help me
Terri

I got this royal on the weekend, Its a 220v version and was sold here for a while by a cleaning equipment supplier. it is a made in china version, I must say there is little difference between this and the 612c, The only ones I  found are

no carbon brush ports on the side of the motor housing, The brush is a very aggressive one featuring removable brush strips, bag obviously and the handle locks into position like a normal upright vacuum.

It also feels heavier.

Time for a strip down and rebuild plus polish
