Bill,

That Royal 606... appears to be a 1976 to 1985 model going by the Adjust-O-Rite plate design. May I ask you for the serial # on yours, please? Example: K78-F-87896. Congratulations on restoring it!

Andy I will reply I completely forgot.. Cerial number...

Cerial #: 77K E 81751 - also looking for front bearing since it is rusty and dry.

Andy will reply shortly to email. Forgot about it. School has been taking up most of my time lately and I completely spaced out.

Thanks.

Bill,

Your 606 was built October of 1977. Last known part number for front bearing assembly was 2-080127-000, but good luck finding that one today! Until 1979, some Royals had both rear and front bearings, but since then Royals only had one bearing, in the rear (which is also why there is only one oil port on the most recent pre-1995 Royal metal uprights).

Thus, I believe the rear bearing assembly (2-080126-000) should be looked into as well. Did you oil that recently?

The Fabulous Electrolux Cleaner

My only lux. A model LX early type. No cracks in epoxy panel molds. Recently I redid rebuilt the motor. And buffed it.

That weird 543...

It works and it's redone to the best of my capabilities without damaging it... It seems so different from coming 543... Thicker handle bail... Textured base... Switch on handle with no boot over switch... Weird connection to motor... Weird... Please tell me about this weird Hoover. No bag assembly Or cord.

Commander model 9

I know nothing about it and it was never used for cleaning. Still has tag on original bag. Was very corroded. Disintegrating cord rapped in plastic to stop it from shedding black strings.

How to Tell If Your 606 Also Has a Front Bearing...

Bill,

A simple picture I found while looking at a 1971 Royal 801 on eBay will show you where the front motor bearing is... thus I want to ask you: does your '77 606 also have a second oil cap by the headlight and nozzle?

No oil port in front on royal 606

It has a cheap steel sealed ball bearing in the front. Ceramic or plastic plate holding it in. Its somewhat like a Kirby but the bearing doesn't come out.
