My boss told me that his dad used an old Kirby trade In as a water pump to pump out water from his next-door neighbor aboveground swimming pool. I think the way the fan was designed as long as the fan Was turning water will be deflected away from the bearing but if the fan stops while pumping that is when water will affect the motor.

Does anyone have recommendation for inexpensive new tools? Does anyone have used handle or foot for sale?
