Thanks Fred!

That's a beauty you got there!  I bought a C2 almost a year ago, and it came with a complete set of attachments, except it has no provisions for a power nozzle.  This new one does, and I'll share the attachments from my first one with it.  I'm glad I have them because for some reason, genuine Compact attachments (especially the rug and bare floor nozzles) are really expensive.  Now, to troll eBay for an electric hose and power nozzle.

I love all my Compact and Tristar vacuums. I came across a DXL about a 1 1/2 years ago with a motor that was kaput. The previous owner accidentally vacuumed up water. I installed a more powerful motor in it, and now it's my go to vacuum when I need a canister.

I love them because of their simple and unpretentious design.

Compacts-found a C-2 model at a yard sale last Saturday-Stopped at the sale to see what was up glad I did-amongst the Baby toys and other junk was athe C2 Compact-bought it right away. The seller said it used to belong to her grandmother.Took it home and with VERY minimal cleanup it works GREAT-the motor sounds perfect.Works well-vacuumed out its cloth bag with the big "Pig"-NSS M1 and put a paper bag in the Compact "Baby Pig" so as to keep the cloth bag clean.

Thanks Shane,

I would love to buy your power nozzle for my Compact.  I get paid on the 13th, and will send you the money then for the nozzle and the dusting brush.  Do you know what the total would be with shipping?  BTW, you wouldn't happen to have an electric hose for it too, would you?  If so, how much for it too?

Joe

the power haed would be about 10.00 to ship i will put the dusting brush in with it so 30 total should take care of it. you might ask jimmy if he has a hose in all that stuff i sure dont have one at all.i have a turquoise compact i need a hose for its straight suction i wouls like to find the hose with the turquoise hand grip that comes with this model but not neccasary.

The power nozzle in reply #s 4 and 5 looks very similar to a Eureka/Rainbow/NuTone. Is it, in fact, a Eureka rebrand?

I'm also thinking that the power nozzle is the one that originally went with Joe's Compact. Is that so?

Anyway, great purchase, Joe. I hope you are able to find the original hose and all the original attachments for your new cleaner!

Jafilberti:-The Compact vacuum did come with attachments-most are from other vacuums-there were two carpet tools and one bare floor tool and wand. The machine came with a vinyl hose-figure these orig had cloth hoses-the vinyl hose has the original ends.Bet this machine is BETTER than the one they bought to replace it!The motor sounds like it has YEARS of life left in it.Its quiet and spins down smoothly and quietly.

That's great Rex

I have a C2 i bought off Shop Goodwill about a year ago and it was complete with the original attachments and even came with the original instruction manual.  Sad thing is neither the donor or Goodwill themselves bothered to empty the bag.  When I got it, it was full of dirt.  I really like the Compacts.  They are great canisters.  My new one is in awesome shape and is very clean. It only came with the hose and original rug tool attachment wise, but I plan on sharing my C2's attachments with it so that'll work. I'm gonna send Shane the money for the power nozzle next week, and when it comes, and I get an electric hose and wands, it will be pretty much complete.

Hi Kevin

You are correct.  A few companies did go to Eureka for the power nozzles for their machines.  Compact did, as well as Rainbow.  I used to have a D2 that had a PN that was a Rotomatic with a Rainbow decal on it instead of Eureka.  I think even Air Way used Eureka nozzles at one time.  They were very good and very reliable in my opinion.

<span style="font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">I just won a lime green Compact C8 from <span style="color: #ff0000;">eBay</span> & found a C2 by the dumpster</span>

<span style="font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;"> </span>

<span style="font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">The C8 came only with a hose, two extension wands & a beaten up bare floor brush; the floor tool needs a new elbow support ring, bumper & bristle strips.</span>

<span style="font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">The C2 did NOT have any tools; it had a full bag</span>

Luky for me mine was emptied before I bought it-considerate sellers-I did vacuum the fine remaining dust off and out of the cloth bag-then put a paper TriStar-Compact liner bag in the cloth one.So much better! The cloth bag will stay clean-this machine didn't stink, either! There was a little loose stuff inside the body-again the M1 took care of that.Just wonder what kind of vacuum they bought to replace that Compact Pig!
