My first experience with Dyson Dual Cyclone technology was the Cyclon 1000. It was ok, but the shroud hadn't been invented yet. My second dual cyclone was the Sears Kenmore Dry Tech carpet shampooer, followed by the Dyson-Designed "Vectron". I had a Fantom "Thunder" before I got a DC01. I think the filtration was superior on the Dyson Dual Cyclone models than it was on our Iona-built Fantom Dual Cyclone machines - most likely because of the MUCH superior air flow and suction produced by a 240 volt motor. I had to wire an extension cord to my dryer outlet to use my machine - but that was a benefit. I had to cut off the original British plug and fit an American plug. That way, for carpet cleaning, I use the machine plugged into my 240 volt extension cord. But, if I want "low" speed, I plug the machine into a standard 120 volt American outlet.

I think the DC07 cleaner is the one with the most number of variations as it was made for a good deal of years and Dyson made many exclusive versions of it for several retailers, as well as plenty of models of their own plus a charity edition too.

That is a wonderfull collection. I like the transperant dc02, I would love a dc02 and dc03 Clear

I love my dc11, Given to me by the MD of the company that imports the dysons to SA. It was his personal vacuum until he found out how much I liked that model but didn't have it.

Today I finally got this working
My Dc21 motor head.

I got it from a lady who's cleaning lady was extremely hard on it, It was then damaged in a flood.

When I got it on Monday the motor worked but the pc board was fried from the water damage.

As I am an extremely impatient person when it comes to new vacs I want to use and as this model was not sold here so I did not have the circuit board in stock I got to work and made a few repairs to it and now the motor head works. Its brush bar has been damaged by it been run on hardflooring without been switched off but even lik eit is its a powerful cleaner.

I changed the cyclone top cover from a silver one to a blue one from a dc19. I prefer it in blue

I took it home and Joanne's Favorite color is blue so I can have as many vacuums as I want as long as they are blue.

Recyclone

The Recyclone was a brain-wave that Dyson had, back in the later part of the 1990's. The cleaner was built using recycled waste plastic from the building of the regular vacuum cleaners, but the plan was that the Recylcone would be so popular that it would eventually be built from broken Dyson cleaners which Dyson owners had handed back to Dyson. The fact that the Recyclone was limited to just one model out of what seems like 100's which have been produced since should indicate to you how successful this scheme was.

I think the fact that the Recyclone was more expensive than the standard DC02 did not help sales either.

Dysons

Wow, there are alot of great pictures of nice dyson collections on here. One day I hope to track down a nice original dc01 and dc02 for my collection. Does anyone know how the dc01's performance compares with, say a fantom thunder?

i have a dyson dc01 standard for sale all original in very very good condition i can ship it anywhere the machine in £40 plus shipping

The Dyson DC01 has about 90 Airwatts, but the hose suction seems like a bit more than that, but the carpet groom, ing and the amount of dust it picks up is amazing, the hose is the longest out of any other Dyson, The tools are abit fiddly but are cool, this was improved on the DC04, there are still thousands of Dyson DC01's still being used, and on the street where I live, theres me and another lady who have DC01's
