Nice

It looks like a cross between boba fett and death maul.
It also looks like the bug eyes brother with some hoover coffee can appearance.
Nice job that's another great looking machine.

Way more stylish than the hoover models that were on the market. I would have got one of these back then.

I have seen many over the years. My favourite is the imperial bug eye model but in spite of the many over the years I have never seen any tool sets.

They must be rare as anything.

I am sure dysonman has one or two though.

Kieran,

Yes I did buy this on eBay but the seller first had it as local pic-up only. I contacted the seller, but he wasn't interested in shipping it, but after a few months they relisted it at a higher price, and did offer shipping, so I bought it. It took two Kenmore's to complete this one.

Pictured is the Kenmore I used to complete this automatic. I used the handle and bag from the one on the right to complete it so it's not all original, but I don't care it's a good looking vac. I might replace the cord with an older style cloth covered cord in time. It has a Kirby cord on it now that matched the handle color perfectly. It's hard to find these with the handle grip intact.

Side Note: I worked on my two Kenmore's at the same time. Also pictured is the Automatic and the Imperial together. [this post was last edited: 4/28/2021-09:18]

I have a tool set, complete, for these Kenmores. The converter slides in from the back like a Hoover Convertible. It uses the same tools as a Commander, but without the rug nozzle.

I would imagine the hose would have been black and chrome tools? Those sets must be super rare as I have never seen any in my 51 years. As well as the imperial (bug eye).
