Hello!
Chester,
the Sensoronic range is my favourite from hoover European production of the Eighties. The eariest Sensotronic series( to which the "electronic 1000" shown in this post belongs was made of 5 models, two of which with Electrkinetic power nozzle. the first model was Mod S 3126, in red/black with cream tools, straight suction canister, 900 watts motor, no electronic power adjustment; the second was mod. S 3126 in two tones green and cream tools, electronic power adjustment on the vacuum cleaner; the third was mod.S 3132,two tones brown and cream tools, no powernozzle, electronic power adjustment on the handle of electrified hose ( just like mine and the one shown in the advertisings in the us); the fourth was mod. S 3130 in cream/dark brown had the same electronic power adjustment as the second but featured a lighter electrified hose(very similar to the ones used on Celebrities) and cream/brown power nozzle; the last and top of the line was the dark brown mod. S 3134 with same features as mod. S 3132 with brown power nozzle. Later, in 1984, there was a little restyling: hoses and tools were made in brown and in the three deluxe models chrome extension wands.
In 1985 a new Sensotronic range was lounched and your Total system 50 was the top of the line. A new electrified hose was introduced and the handle grip became more comfortable and Total system models still eatured the wonderful ELectrokinetic power nozzle.
The evolution was the introduction of a diferent power nozzle, the so called "Turbo 300": it was great because it featured a sort of evolution of the brushroll of Turbopowers but smaller in diameter, wider than the previous and in general the powernozzle was much lower.
I personally own two mod S 3134, 1 S 3130, 1 S3132 and 1 S 3128. I'm getting a S 3126, of the later series I just have a pair of Sensotronic System 11 and a Total system 50 in light blue( uncomplete and not working)
Unfortunately these vacuum cleaners were not very popular because of their extremely high price, so they're sadly very hard to find.
