I love love love Concepts one of the best vacuums in that era!!
I have almost 30 different models. When I was growing up my mom was a house keeper for all of the well to do in this area and over 90% of them had a Concept. I loved it when I could go with her in the Summer when school was out so I could do all the vacuuming. I always dreamed of having a new one of my own but they were to much $$ for mom to buy me one. If she was to spend that kind of money on a vacuum it would be another Eureka power team roto matic canister for herself so I always settled for Elites. My dad had a friend (Cappie) who had pasted away (older man in his 90s) and he had just bought a new U3109 (I believe) in the southwestern orange bag print a few years before he died. Dad was helping Cappie's daughter clean out the house to put on the market and his daughter told my dad to take that sweeper home to me. So you can imagine the thrill when he brought it home to me, especially since I already had a history with that vacuum. I played with it every time we went to visit Cappie. I still have it today. I remember before the concept Cappie had a 1961 yellow Convertible 561 and a rust color Decade 80 that was there one day and the next they were gone and a new concept was in their place. I really loved playing with that Convertible (so Tom Anderson gifted me with that model a few years ago). Dad also brought home Cappie's other vacuum that I did't really have interest in back them because it was a canister and I thought they were boring. It was a sand colored Sunbeam hatbox deluxe with everything including the turbo head but I stupidly gave it away. lol
