thanks

im still kinda torn between the decision to stay with this one or buying a brand new Riccar/Simplicity Vac.. either the Vibrance/Symmetry models.. Any suggestions or do u think the concept would be better than both those machines?

I personally can't comment on those machines, I have no experience with them myself. I do know of all my machines the Concept1 on carpet can not be beat! Period.Yes, no hose or tools onboard, but dead reliable, easy to use, quick cord release, large cheap bags, they will pry mine from my dead hands, it and my Silverado.Parts for this machine are not easy to find, but have never needed any either here.

lol

so ur taking ur concept to ur grave ey?? LOL! Well this is my first Concept One... and ive heard nothing but good reviews on them and the years and years of service they offer. So im reassured that they are good machines with great cleaning power. True.. no onboard tools but i didnt however order a tool set which also came in.. and the suction power is good on the tool set too.. way way better that the Convertible tool sets IMO. Ive also heard good positive things about the Riccar/Simplicity brand vacs.. IMO they're probably what HOOVER used to be back in the day as far as building they're machines to last. Anyhow.. thanks for your feed back :)

I have to agree with David

I have a Concept 1 with Powerdrive, and it is an awesome machine.  In my days as a DTD vacuum salesman, the only vacuum I dreaded coming up against was a Concept 1, especially if the owner was the type that vacuumed daily.  I was lucky to pull any dirt from the carpet.  You can't go wrong with that cleaner.

Very nice cleaner! That is the self-propelled sister model of the U4203, which lacked the Power Drive and headlight, and whose outer bag is solid Honey Beige. My mother had that model when I was a kid, and it rendered years of excellent service. I currently have another Concept One model, the U3315, which continues to operate flawlessly even after nearly 24 years of service.

Frankly, I would keep that Concept One. Even if you don't use it as a daily driver, it would still make a very worthy addition to your collection.

To me the Hoover Concept is the best carpet cleaner ever, and it truly excells with deep pile carpet.
They are very long lasting and durable. I have several and know a good many of people who still have them in service. Even our church had a Concept being used as a light commercial vacuum for 28 years.

Awesome!!

I acquired mine for free! It belonged to my aunt and she told me to take it. So of course I did :-) lol it sat in her upstairs closet for years. Just cleaned it up put new belts and a bag good to go. My carpets look new again

I got very lucky to be honest guys with mine. Neighbor across the street, little old lady, bought the place in 1942, gone now. She got it in 92? for her new carpet, the jerk of the power drive hurt her wrist, so when I started to check on her and clean, it still had first bag in it. She went to rest home soon after and I got it. So really I am the only one to use it, wish I had more plush carpet to work over. Vintage hard wood with 4 area/ oriental rugs.Still a favorite.

Good decision I made

To get this concept because my aunt knew I liked older vacs but at the same time was wanting to buy something brand new like a Riccar but after much research and trying convertibles both metal and plastic I've realized that the concept beats them all. So thanks for your shared views on this fabulous hoover creation!
