Twin fan..

Of course I couldnt wait, and since obtaining a twin fan was HIGH on my list for the trip, I had to get this beauty right into the spa, and look how lovely it turned out!

Solid State Protection

This is kinda neat. The brush roll for this twin fan has a magnet in it, which activates a sensor to let the machine know the brushroll is spinning properly. Should anything ever jam the brushroll, the sensor shuts the machine off, and the indicator lights to alert the user to an issue.

Unfortunately, the brushroll on this machine was ovalled out on one end, and wouldn't spin properly. As I couldnt locate another magnet brushroll, I had to unhook the sensor for the time being, and use a normal brushroll. Should I ever locate the proper brushroll, I will hook the sensor back up, as this feature is just too cool.

Oh yeah, I got it ALL..

I hadnt seen a converter pan and hose for a twin fan since I was a toddler, and had to have this one. While the converter is original, the hose is a replacement. Unlike Hoover and eureka converters, this one does not use any sort of lats, it simply "snaps" into place, with plastic tabs. It also does not have a wheel on the bottom, just plastic ridge to tilt the machine up.

The hose for this system has identical 1 1/4 friction fittings on each end, and just pushes into the converter pan the same as the other end fits into the hand tools. (I still remember mom using this set up on her Singer System twinfan when I was little, and it was always hilarious to me when she would try to tug the machine along by the hose like gramma's Eureka that she grew up with, and the hose would fly off, sending her into a string of curse word that would have been the pride of any sailor. No wonder she tossed the hose and converter as soon as she got a singer 3 in 1 hand vac.)

Amazingly, the suction is fairly good, much better than a Hoover with converter pan or a Eureka with converter pan. Not what one can expect form a good canister, but definately good enough for average above floor use.

Poor little orphan..

Since this is the EXACT machine mom had when I was little, I had to rescue this poor thing. Considering all it needs, I may never get it up and running, but at least I have the woodgrain Kenmore to use.

Poor baby needs a brushroll and brushroll ends, (hopefully we have one at work, somewhere..). Also needs the vinyl outer bag, the gray one with the red and blue Singer System logo. Lastly, it needs the 2 little metal peices that actually hold the handle crossbar to the body of the machine, and a spring for the handle release.

Should any other twin fan collectors have extras of these items, please let me know. Some of my fondest childhood memories involve mom using a machine just like this, until it was traded in on a Rainbow.

wow very nice you are so lucky you were able to travel to rugsuckers store and get those machines I live way too far away, very nice haul thanks. Zach

Yeah, Im a sucker for Eureka F&G uprights. They always seemed like a step up from Hoovers. They are mainly what I got, and I chose some of the most distressed ones, since I'm also a sucker for a vac that has been used and abused, and just wants to be pretty and cared for again, lol. I finished spa treatment on one today, and wish I had before pics. From now on, I will take befores.
