Hi everyone! I just wanted to share my extreme happiness with you vacuum lovers! I've now finally added Kirbys to my collection! I just bought these little babies on Ebay. For both Kirbys, I paid $35.00 local pick up! The Heritage II is missing the brush roller and rug plate. From the research I've done, since I knew nothing about Kirbys, I think the bag on the Dual Sanitronic 50 is from a Tradition. It's kinda funny, the Heritage II signifies me, in that I was born in 1984 and the Dual Sanitronic 50 signifies my husband because he was born in 1964! It's just ironic, but cute none the less! I can't wait to get my hands on them and polish them up! Kirbys need to be pretty! The photo of them is the one from the seller. I will post my own pics of them once I go and bring them home! If anyone has any further information or anything to help me with my new Kirby fixation, please feel free to let me know!!! :) -Michelle

Enjoy that Heritage II, I know that I've been looking for one for a while xD

The bag on the Sanitronic may be a Tradition bag, but you won't know until get a closer look at it. It may be a bojack bag. Post a picture when you get it and some of us will tell you.

I will tell you though, you will LOVE both of these Kirbys. I think the Heritage II is the best Kirby ever made and the DS 50 is a great vacuum to use. I know several people who are in their 30's and use their parent's DS50 with a Tradition, Heritage, Heritage II, or Legend bag.

EDIT: It looks like your DS50 has a DS80 cord on it.

I think there is still a Kirby dealer (or repair store) in Joliet, if not there is the Kirby shop in Tinley Park. Scott has the Kirby of Addison store and I know he has new or used parts for the Heritage, depending on your budget.

It does look like the bag on the DS50 has the houndstooth pattern of the Tradition.

Michelle,

May I ask you if you intend to find a Kirby Heritage II with a September 1984 serial number on it (X8409XXXXX), since that points to your birthday?

In finding one, it would have the following differences:
* The nozzle casting on it was similar to the Classic/Heritage I.
* The zipper on the back of the bag was metal, not gray plastic.
* The attachment box was of cardboard (not the Kirby Kaddy as later), and also the Turbo Brush accessory was still available (the ZippBrush replaced that in late 1985).
* The attachment hose still had bleeder holes on the swivel end.
* The other attachments still had a smooth finish, not sparkled as later.

I am

So glad you are enjoying your Kirby's! May they serve you with excellent performance for years to come! I'm partial to my Heritage II, but my 514 is always a blast.
