Dan: I am all for the Black-Red colors on the new Kirby. One Kirby salesman commented to me it was the MAN of the house that "bought" the Kirby.Women often don't like having to change the modes so they ask "hubby" to do it.The salesman mentined that men liked the modes the Kirby could be used for-esp the Handi Butlers and the Turbo sanders. In the earlier Kirbys--the women liked the vibrator!!I am still waiting for my Kirby Avalir. The man said it was going to be sometime this week.Maybe his shipment got delayed.

Another KIRBY factory refurb

My great Uncle Bill x Kirby sales man now owner of a prestigious Pennsylvania beauty salon
had these rebuilt in 1994 and they sat in his salon storage room because I turned them on to Orecks
they prefer them because they are light and they can vacuum the granite floors easier than a Kirby .

This is a Kirby Classic Omega such a great Kirby of yesteryear .

Dan very nice Kirby Classic Omega. The ones I have encountered are dirty, bags ripped and stinky, bearings, fans shot, and so on.Good the Sentria 2 was liked by the women-I liked the colors, too. The only Kirby color I didn't like was the D80 color. The D80 is an excellent Kirby-just don't like its puke green color. The Kirby Tradition was beautiful-its nice, deep,Cobalt blue.

NICE Eureka-This looks so much like the Sanitiares-but prettier. The usual Sanitaires are built for business to be heavily used-and the users don't really care how they look.-And most of their "users" aren't the owners of the machines. They are owned by the cleaning company or contractor. The one shown is just to nice to be used by a cleaning company! They will beat it up!What type of paper bag does this model use?

And the beat goes on..

Dan i want to turn things around a bit and ask you what is *not* in your collection and why.
For instance, i have around 150 vacs but only one is an Electrolux canister.
I do not have any vac pre 1960's. I have only one pre G-series Kirby.
I do not have any hand vacs or shop vacs.

That said i have a number of metal Royal uprights a common vacuum which i don't recall seeing in your collection.
You have a load of Hoovers but it seems none of some common models.

What did you once have but moved on from (besides Miele and Sebo?)
And what vacuum do you regret most not snapping up when you had the chance?

I'm gonna guess your preference for new vacuums probably plays a big role in there being fewer really old models, but i'msure there is more to the tale..

Robert

I have many Royal vacuums including the Powercast and the other metal royals heck they are KIRBY cousins so you know I'd own them 😁 I reposted a few of my Royals for you .

No regrets because I am blessed with being able to own all vacuums I could dream of the only machines I want are all brand new machines not even made or thought of yet .

I am disappointed with Miele and Sebo I may try a Felix just not in any rush to get one yet .

Dan,

.
what is your take on the Powercast? I realized i wanted one when they were being closed out but i was just too late too the party to get a new one.
I have yet to come across a used one outside of the rare Ebay appearance, and even there i have yet to see a two motor model which is what i would prefer.

Your commercial/Everlast machines are gloriously factory fresh looking.
As incredibly long lasting and hard working as these machines are they often appear shabby for it. Not yours! But then again, i'm not surprised..
And kuddos for breaking with the pack and embracing Dirt Devil.
That doesn't mean i am a fan of the brand, i do have a Cruiser model though, but rather i appreciate the pioneering spirit.

Finally, thx again for spending the time taking and uploading the pics and answering questions. I have noticed some don't respond to my questions on their threads for whatever reason, but you always do, i appreciate it. I feel i have under-shared my collection but time is tight with a 3 and 5 year old.
Adios for now..

Robert

I LOVE the Powercast it cleans really well plus it takes DD type C bags .
It's heavy for the normal person but not for me an xlinebacker 💪

I hear Ya on the comments stuff there are many on this site that ignore questions I think that's wrong
and I know some probably don't have an answer but they should at least say I don't know .

Myself being the nastiest and meanest member on here (according to "others" who mean nothing to me )

I will always respond because this is the "real Dan" a kind and respectful and knowleable member of VL . I really appreciate the questions and the compliments I LOVE them plus my collection . I enjoy posting my collection I am proud of it and enjoy sharing with my friends on VL .

I do not discriminate against other brands I appreciate all brands I even own those I don't like and NEVER bash other brands as "some" do . This is called "Vacuum Land " not one brand land !!!

I would love to see your collection once you get time I can tell you thank God for my iPhone 6 plus I can snap pictures quickly and post when I have time between appointments ect .

Dan:That Kirby D80 looks so much better than the ones I find.Yours is a green color well,I could like.Guess the others out there fade to the Puke Green colors. It is amazing the vacuums you run into for your collection-You have your OWN vacuum Museam!Neat how you can enjoy those machines right at home!I do have one Kirby D80 that came from the Filter Queen dealers trade in pile.It was in nice shape. The Filter Queen place is gone now-they folded.Too bad- got some machines from them and they let me sit in on one of their sales training sessions! Also bought a sales kit from them-has the FQ "slug",photo light, and dirtmeter.I have two Powercasts-bought them when the Royal dealer here was more active and these machines were available. They are heavy and perform well, but feel the bag is too small. This powerful vacuum fills that small bag quickly. And sometimes the Powercast trips the breaker when I start it.Needs a "soft Start" feature. The built in GFI breaker is most unusual.Royal was trying to make these machines appeal to commercial contractor cleaners. The effort failed becuase of the machines weight and it is fragile. Most common casulty of these is broken handles.A cleaning contactor in Greenville tried the Powercasts but went back to their Sanitaires becuase of lighter weight, easier, cheaper to repair.

Rex I thought you'd

Say that ...

they are only puke Green when faded and old this has been in the box since rebuilt by the KIRBY factory since 1994 so it stayed brand new and unfaded .

I love the Powercast Royals I think they are great machines that clean really well . I never fill vacuum bags I just don't have much dirt in my bags I guess that's because I always remove my shoes at the door and walk around in socks only .

Come to think about it I do have my own museum especially with all the brands I own and 90% at least are brand new but all are 100% mint condition .
