I will look into

The Lindwash it sounds amazing I did buy a Sanitaire extractor for the cars it works great .

I like the Prima and can't wait to get mine I am a true Tacony fan I love them all ❤️

I am not a Miele fan any more I loved the Aluminium , Silver moon and Blue moon plus Red Star ect. I feel they were Mieles best vacuums .

Dan

I by no means am trying to sell you on anything, just a disclaimer I guess..

Anyways, have you tried the S8 Mieles? The UniQ? I guess I like the new models better than the older models. They feel more refined.

I'm in love with the S7 as well..

This is coming from a guy that bleeds tandem-air machines...

I've definitely fallen for the Miele products... Except the scout... ... ...............

You don't need a disclaimer I am not like that I think your a good guy and will buy vacuums from you :)

Miele turned me off with the Capricorn I bought my sister and I one and we both had many problems with our machines especially me who is as gentle as anyone it just didn't hold up as the older ones did .

I also was turned off by my S7 Salsa it was an extremely heavy and bulky vacuum I have a small home and my KIRBYS get around easier and into more small spots then the S7 does . It also developed a smell that none of my other vacuums have I just have had bad luck with Miele .

I have not tried the new canisters yet maybe one day I will I just can't get used to their short hoses and toy attachments . I'm not bashing the brand it's just how I feel about them and I LOVE German products ;)

Dan

Totally agree with you Dan, We had a S7 and it started smelling almost within a week.

I bought a S8 to see how well it worked and again stinky Miele after a few uses even with the charcoal filter.

I have had so many customers who have been life long Miele Customers put off by the s5 It just didn't match up to German standards

I bought a new Miele S7 Cat and Dog maybe a year and a half or two years ago. It's a heavy beast, expensive to maintain, has a so-so hose and tools, and is a candidate for giving me carpal tunnel. I used it every so often and then put it in storage.

I'd definitely say the s7 is not a vacuum for everyone... I'll also say when I sell an s7 I make sure everyone knows that it has a heavier handle weight than most vacuums and I also make sure they know not to push it like a traditional upright. I make sure they know to someone glide with it and not put a lost of pressure on their wrists.

Many people come in to look at them and I'll sell them something else because they didn't realize how heavy the handle weight was.

Oh, I also send vacuums home with people for the weekend to make sure they can handle it.

I don't want something being returned because of a product not being explained.

But this smell thing does concern me. I guess when we service vacuums we disassemble and sanitize them. What kind of smell are you guys experiencing?

Every Miele I get in my shop has that distinctive pet smell. Do what you like it doesn't go away. We strip every vacuum that comes into my shop, put all the plastic parts in the huge parts washer. Then buff out scratches and polish and reassemble. You can do what you like with a Miele change the charcoal filter service it but after a few uses its back, that stinky wet smell.

I posted this in another thread aswell but thought I would post it here too. This customer traded in her miele's with me last week. The s5 is two years old and has fallen apart. The hose ( not seen in pic ) is completely destroyed. The Motor burnt out and the body falling apart. She said straight out, Never a Miele again, Yes her maid is heavy handed but her previous Miele lasted 10 years with the same cleaning lady, and then went on to become the garage and car vac, hence the paint all over it. Its still working. The quality has long since gone

I am going to mention a manufacturer I never see mentioned in any discussions of modern machines. Panasonic. I'm curious what the opinion of the many collectors have of a current model Panasonic canister vacuum, something like the MC-CG902 or MC-CG937. Have you seen and/or used one to have an opinion of them? Do you know their features, what the attachments look like, wands and floor brush are, how big the bag chamber is, air watts of the motor and the like? Can you justify the price delta between a top of the line Panasonic canister with it's old fashioned full sized attachments, steel button lock wands and giant bag chamber over the much smaller and less capable attachments and bag chamber of just about any other canister vacuum on the market at double to quadruple the price. Just curious why Panasonic never figures in the mix with collectors. Is it a case of having a low opinion of them or are they just invisible?

I just bought this

Montgomery Ward vacuum from Robert Coonradt this vacuum is mint and spotless he is a perfectionist and always sells great machines unlike other sellers Robert cares about the machines he sells .
I love the colors but surely didn't need any more vacuums but I couldn't pass this one up .

Dan

I was just wondering if you ever got into any of the Robo-vacs like the Roomba, or the Electrolux Trilobite.
I recently saw that Miele has a Robo vac, just never saw any other than the Roomba in person.

Harley

I have not they take the fun out of vacuuming and they just don't interest me they are basically surface cleaners . I have an inground pool and had to have one of those vacuums that drive around the pool well that was a waste of money because it drives me nuts when it drives by something I spend more time jumping in to move it around even though I know it would eventually clean the pool I just can't watch it do its job . So that would be the same if I had a robot vacuum :)

Nothing better than pushing a vacuum knowing you are getting your carpets clean .

Dan

Kirbyloverdan (or anyone else), have you tried a modern Panasonic canister vacuum? It is as if they are invisible here.
