That makes me feel so good I appreciate your comments and enjoy sharing my collection with you and the other great members of this club .

I am VERY lucky to own mint and brand new machines in my collection . I am a fanatic and am grateful the used machines I have received mostly from family members who taught me to take care of my possessions buy the best only and they will last a lifetime proof being my many amazing vacuums in my collection . Stay tuned I have MANY more mint vacuums to post I am still not near being finished sharing my collection .

We called that model the 612 here in SA. Its major difference been the location of the switch , Ours been on the side at the bottom.

This is one of my 612's It was used every day by the same family till it was trades in a few months ago for something lighter.

It is still yet to be rebuilt so Its still at my home workshop ad not on display at my showroom

I love this

Hoover yours is neat too I love how they made them different for USA with the switch on the handle and everyone else got a step on switch like yours .

My great grandmother always had a staff to help with the house but she had always been the only one allowed to vacuum it was the only job she ever enjoyed as far as housework went . That's the reason
her vacuums still look brand new and that's how I keep every thing I own .
I even wax my Benz's once to twice a week and they are washed every single day .
My vacuums are polished and cleaned before I put them away after each use .

We got the same machine called the 638 Again with the switch underneath.

I am busy restoring this one.

Trying to remould the bumper as a new one is not available.

Underneath the 612 and 638 are just about identical, They use the same motor, Beater brush, even the heavy cast alloy base is the same, Just the Hoods are different and the cord mounts.

Some one else is interested in the 638 in my pics too

I love seeing all your old Hoovers. They are in great shape! And what makes them even more special for you is that they belonged to your family members, so memories are attached to them. Enjoy your Hoovers you inherited & cherish them forever.

Thank you so much I really appreciate the way my family have taken care of all of their vacuums especially their Hoovers . That taught me to respect every thing in my life buy only the best and you will have your items for a lifetime .

I still LOVE the Hoover brand as many collectors hate them and always bash TTi, I thank God they came along and saved one of my beloved vacuum cleaner companies because with out TTi Hoover would be no more . They are a European family that really care about all the brands they own and are doing an amazing job keeping those brands alive and are a very innovative company .

You're welcome, Dan. And you're right on about Hoover. Sure, us collectors may not like the changes to the company TTI has made, or the fact Hoover vacuums are made in China. But Hoover I can honestly say is one of the better made Chinese makes, & reality is these days is you HAVE to manufacture in China to remain competitive in the vacuum marketplace.

Rob

The changes

TTI has done to Hoover , Royal and now Oreck are nessacary and are geared towards customer demand not collector demand . They could never survive especially with some who would never spend a dime on a new vacuum but rather pick a vacuum from the trash .

So TTis main focus is the typical consumer period .
