My Convertibles

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

thanks for sharing, quite a collection there...the photo of that vacuum alone brings back so many memories...was the 4047 produced in the early 70's?  Maybe even 1969/1970?  My mom had a 1030, which I think was purchased around 1972, before I was born...

dear dan as a life long Hoover collecter and sales and service dealer for a kirby collecto you do have quite a collection of Hoover convertibles the photos around the pool are priceless.....its a shame you were not on a floating raft in the background.....but then again who would take the picture

lol Thank you

yeah that would be kinda hard to take the picture of me in my pool too . I would really like to take pics of my entire collection but that will take some time so stay tuned . Next up I think will be my extensive Oreck collection and my Kirby collection but most of all of them are in boxes so I am not sure how to do those.

Brian , Here is the info about the 4047

Model U4047 Promotional Model-1974-1976. This model came in two color schemes. 1974 model are
Sunset Orange and Taupe; 1975-76 models are Flame Orange and Taupe. Rounded hood basic without head-
light. This model was a single speed and introduced was the new high performance motor.
I had no idea it was a promotional model , very cool !

Take pictures of what you have !

Dan
You have a wonderful collection and I personally would love to see your Kirbys,
plus the rest of the collection.
If you were ever to lose any or all of it for some drastric reason. You would
hopefully have a picture history for the Record. At least on a disc, stored
in a locked safe box in you house. Even locked on line somewhere out in cycber
space somewhere.
You might be glad you did some day. I know of a guy here in S. Ohio who was active
in this club in it's early days. He has over 600+ vacuums in his house. It was just amazing to see all of those vacuums the first time I stepped into this home. Whole rooms devoted to vacuums and nothing else. He says he has it in Writing that a friend from the club is to have all of them if anything ever happens to him. Which gave some comfort in knowing that someone who understands and would appreciate them, would have them.
