My 70's Kenmore's

Nice vacuums there. The main vacuum I'm looking for is like the two on the left but with the green bottom and yellow top from the mid '70s. These older Kenmores are hard to find, I go to estate sales and thrift stores and don't see any. They do come up on eBay from time to time but are very pricey. My mother had a green middle of the line model, I think it was single speed. Then she had a tan one from the early '80s on up through the Whispertone.

How long is the hose on that 1980 model? By the looks of how it meanders on the carpet, that must be 8 or 9 feet! That helps minimize the need to constantly move the canister while cleaning...

Beautiful machines!!
I have the one nearest to the right, but it doesn't have the original powerhead, and is in pretty rough shape. I'm trying to find the right powerhead, but maybe I should shop for another magicord altogether?

I recently picked up an avacado green kenmore canister. It's the smaller canister with the early power head where the cord is riveted to the wand. Let me know if your interested.

Hey I haven't forgotten, I will snap a few pictures in the morning and post them. I cleaned the unit today, it looks nice. I will mention the hose lock is broken and one wheel on the power nozzle is also broken. I will never understand how or why these poor vacuums get so abused. FYI: I have two brand new 9 foot hose blanks coming in for these units.
