My 1st Riccar!!!!!!

Hey guys, it’s been a little while I talked but wait till see this. Yesterday I went to a local goodwill store and went straight to the housewares and several vacuums, including 2 riccar vacuums. This one I have, a teal American Contempo and a white Vibrance. I tooked the 2 riccars to the front and tested them out, the vibrance worked good but there was no belt or broken and the cleaning head didn’t lower all the way down like normal so I skip to that, and when I tested the American Contempo it worked great and brushroll works and it was all in great shape! So I got the Contempo and clean it a bit and tested it out and it was great. I heard Riccar vacuums are great machines and I can see why, and I’m sure they’re luxury vacuums of course. Enjoy!

It also has a cloth filter bag! Anybody know what type bag is this like what letter?

It also comes with the fast task tools, but it’s missing the crevice tool and the only problem with the wand is the twist n lock part is broken so maybe someone has a spare or where can I get one, but I can also use the deluxe attachment set I got 2 months ago too!

Love the way it lowers to clean carpets! With the wheels on the back it’s similar to Panasonic vacuums.

These are excellent vacuums. The sister model to this Riccar 4812 is the Simplicity 6570. They are both the same vacuums but the only differences besides the name, the looks, and the color is that the Simplicity has a looped handle and the Simplicity uses spring loaded wheels with wheels on the nozzle just like what the Hoover Dial-A-Matics have used. The Riccar only has wheels on the body of the vacuum just like what Panasonic and other competitive brands have used before as well. The Simplicity was a better option because it doesn't really float the carpets compare to the Riccar, especially if you are vacuuming under the bed with it, but I still prefer the wheels on the Riccar better than the Simplicity.

Type "A" Riccar bags. You can also get a hepa filter cartridge for the exhaust (fits at bottom of door) for perfectly clean exhaust air.

Hepa filter part number is RVPF. A Riccar dealer should always carry bags and filters for that machine.

Your brush strips look to be in great shape.

Bravo these are probably some of the best Riccar/simplicity models made in terms of reliability.
Definitely the models that they've made their name off of at least.
Many improvements over the Panasonic design.

I've been wanting something like that here lately, but I don't know if my wife will let me in the house with another vacuum!

I've heard that the Tacony vacs in general have stiff brush strips, so much so that there are certain types of carpet you wouldn't want to use them on.

I found a riccar 8955 at thrift store. I then bought a vibrance from classifieds for $20.
When i got vibrance i noticed 8955 was missing bottom metal plate covers belt and height adjustment. I got the plate and runs great. The vibrance ran perfectly. I used for 2 months. A coworker whos vacuum went out i gave her vibrance since it ran great.
My 8955 was missing all attachments soni bought same deluxe attachment set you have.
My only issue is height adjustment gets stuck between carpet and floor. But the motor is strong the deluxe hose is im guessing 10 feet long. I used my kirby Zipp brush with riccar and it had almost as much suction as my sentria.
I know riccar is simplicitys higher end model.
There is a company named fuller brush company. They areblow end. Riccar premium line simplicity basic line and fuller is entry level. Its same vacuum some parts are not as nice as other. I believe cirrus is also tacony or tti. I think its similar to fuller brush vacuums.
I may be wrong on riccar being hihh end. Its just what I have gathered.
There is a new riccar 12 amp vacuum out i recently seen someone off here do a video on showing about it. The brush roll has a sensor and stops when it stops moving.

Tacony is a very good brand. If i couldn't have kirby or royal riccar would be my next choice.

The video before is a bag change. I found the video i mentioned. I think it the riccar suoerlite 10p. The video is by hanks vacuums. I know he posts on here maybe hes reading this. I dont know his name on vacuum land but he makes good vacuum videos and adds good insight.

Riccar isn't higher quality to Simplicity, they both sell the same type of vacuums. The Riccar R10P for example is the exactly the same thing as the Simplicity S10P with no differences in quality or performance. Also Cirrus isn't owned by Tacony, they are owned by ESSCO.

Mostly through my own experience, sometimes I would need to check on some posts just to be sure if I'm correct or not but that rarely happens. To be quite honest here, I love discussing about Tacony vacuums. I even love to help out with other members here if they were not sure about Tacony vacuums and I'm glad that I was able to help you out. I was blown away I first used some Simplicity uprights (6370 and 7350) when I was a kid and I started to learn more about them since the mid 2000's. For years now I've studied them through websites, brochures, part diagrams, and even vacuum stores. I even kept some of these old brochures from work since I also work at a Simplicity dealer.

Im pretty sure i know the vacuum shop you work at. I probably even talked to you before. Im just pointed out that i wasn't sure. Corrections followed by own experience comes across more polite to me. Im not saying im the most polite or correct.
Last night i bought a supralite RSL4 off ebay. It works just has a loud noise when turned on.
On bottom by brush roll looks like it ran. Over purple pinata or crayon.
Ive only seen beat up simplicity vacuums for sale. Riccar was stroke of luck. The riccar my wife prefers as its lighter than sentria.

The vacuum shop is in orem UT im referring too.

Yes that is correct, it probably was possible that I've spoken to you before. Although sometimes I work at the Provo location but most of the time I'm at the Orem location. Not too long ago we opened a store in Spanish Fork but recently we just closed the store in Holladay since no one goes there anymore. I'm actually taking the summer off because it's much slower in the summer time and I've already accepted an offer elsewhere.
