I would love to get my hands on a Henry from about 2000/2001

Here is my 1999 Henry HVR-200 Vacuum, rescued it from being taken to the tip, but after a nice clean up it is still a perfectly good vacuum, have now been owning it for well over 2 years

Cleans well & like AlexHoovers94 these are my fav Henry's. Classic whiney noise & quiet, followed by that whine at the end too, pure bliss. Love the single speed though, no too high or too low settings like the new Henry's.

It's the same as the 2000/2001/2002 Henry's, the only difference being that this one has the Electric Turbo Nozzle switch. Love it, 1100w motor, but powerful enough for me.

AlexHoovers94, keep your chin up, loads on eBay every now & again, & i'll look on the car boot for you aswell. ;D

That's a very nice Henry you have there! I'm glad you saved it from going to the tip

I currently have 2 Henry's, both HVC200's from around 1981. They only have an 800W motor, but they are so powerful!

It was being used from 1999 - 2011 to suck up chip fat - disgusting state it was in when I got it though - big lumps of the stuff inside! Good thing though I had exact filters & extension pipes from that time, manage to make it look almost new!

Prefer it to the new henry's, this ones quiet & your able to talk over the noise. Also works great with a turbo nozzle.

It's just sitting in my room at the minute, & also another thing I like about older Henry's is the hoses, they seem to be longer than present day Henry's!

Yes, I prefer the older Henry's too. I wish I had the original hose/wands for my one

Oh yes it worked fine...

Like new actually, except for the fact that when I first used it all I could smell was Chip Fat coming out of the exhaust...

Soon sorted that out after giving the hose a good scrubbing though, works great & seems more powerful than my mum's HVR200-22

Even though I like it, i'm using nan's old vacuums at the minute, which are a Panasonic MCE3002 & an Electrolux Contour Flexihead 1100w

Both are good vacs, even though I prefer the Electrolux as it feels durable compared to the Panasonic, saying that though the Panasonic is made in P.R.C. but dosen't feel as strong as some of it's prodecesors.

The issue with the Panasonic though, is the rotating brush. This model has no beater bar stop function so the brush which beats the carpet really well & makes the machine vibrate, keeps spinning & this makes a complete racket on Hard Floors & when using the tools. Another thing is the crevice tool, it's got 2 big holes in it which reduces suction dramatically, that's why I would only recommend the Panasonic if you're buying it just for floors.

The Electrolux is great though, 23 years old & still runs quieter than the Panasonic, brush works great & dosen't make the machine vibrate or damages hard floors. Tools are great but it's missing the combination upholstery / dusting brush.

It sounds like you have a good collection! I'm not so keen on the newer Panasonic's either, but I do like a good Lux!

I love old Lux's, nan used to have tons of them, Contours, Bosses, Mondos, all that she'd bought out of the catalogue. I am trying to get an Electrolux Boss Z2274 in WArrington, but hopefully the price will not get jerked up too much.

Didn't get the Boss, never mind, it went for £5.50 in the end but it was too far away, Warrington which where we used to visit but don't now. Oh well, maybe we'll have with finding one on the carboot, quite a funny story last time I was doing one, 2 weeks ago, someone had an 80's Electrolux 512 (I think) with hose / attachments for £3, still working! Should have bought it there & then, but didn't & saw it go after that.

What's weird is though is that mainly Electroluxes turn up on car boots though, still working obviously, but probably because they've bought a new vac & that.

Have seen the Powerline that ALexHoovers94 has put on ebay.

Yes, I see a lot of 90's Henry's at carboot sales, but most of them never seem to have they're attachments.

Yes & when they do have attachments they charge a fortune for the vac!

You do get different types of vac on our carboot though, mostly Electrolux, Numatic, Morphy Richards, & Goblin

I did once see a Hoover Aquamaster selling everything included aswell as a Goblin Trionic with everthing included too!
