Hello,

Just got a Morphy Richards Lift Away today and am very pleased with it. It's sold as the Shark Navigator Pro in the USA.

Although I found it fairly quiet on first test, it is a bit noisy when cleaning carpet, though when using suction only, it isn't too bad and doesn't have that high pitched scream that many new vacs have.

There's a video of this cleaner on my YouTube channel.

George...

I think Roger gets them when they have come down in price, he doesn't usually pay full price for the new machines he gets.

Nice video Roger as always, can't wait to see more from you.

I do get vacuums when they're on offer and as I don't smoke, drink, have children or take drugs I have the money for my collection. I don't always keep the cleaners, it depends if I like them or want them to complete a range. I think I will be keeping this Morphy Richards though.

I still have a lot of videos to upload that I made a while ago, plus some more vacuum related stuff. I did upload a clip from the Jerry Lewis film, "Who's Minding The Store" set in the electrical department with the exploding Hoover Senior/Convertible, but it was blocked by Paramount, even though there are other clips from this film on YouTube.

Glad my uploads are being appreciated, it makes it worthwhile considering the time it takes.

What a great video! I often wondered about the Shark Navigator. It seems like it does a good job. I think homes in the U.S. have similar issues to those in the U.K., so it seems like it could suit either situation. Thanks for the informative, well-done video.

That vacuum is sold here...

in the US as the 'Shark Navigator'. They sell at auctions i go to for about $8-$40 each depending on:
how many you buy,
the biding competition,
whether the box is included,
& which of the various models of the basic vacuum platform is up for bid, "professional", "Deluxe", etc.

These are store returns & often are missing an attachment or two. You can test the vacuum before the auction starts & find any missing attachments from a large supply of spares...which is also up for auction!

This vacuum has a rather narrow cleaning head & spare parts are pricey or unobtainable, that having been said those that use these vacs seem to be happy with their purchase.
The newest model here, the "Rotator" looks about the same but comes with a more sealed filtration system & a wider cleaning path.

Very nice at first impression. Those machines are designed by Mark Rosen led Euro-Pro LLC in Boston. They are sold mostly on television but sometimes in department stores also. I didn't find it "quiet," but I did love that pleasant sewing machine style hum the brushroll made. Different from anything I've heard yet. Those filters impress me. They seem very well made and sealed. That HEPA was quite genuine. It appeared to have the accordian style filter inside. Of course, the real test of filtration comes after a year or two of regular use. If it can still register zero on a particle scanner after that it will truly have my utmost respect. Most people in the U.S. seem to believe they are poorly made machines but I would not dismiss that vacuum too quickly!

I've had my Morphy Richards lift away for a couple of months now and really like it. I was pretty shocked the first few times I used it how much dirt it pulled out of the carpets, especially as I vacuum every day. The lift away function is a real boon, makes above the floor cleaning a lot easier that a conventional upright with a hose. Was a bit disappointed in the hose it's self, not very flexible, but after a few "stretches" it does loosen up. Maintenance is a breeze, I just was the foam filter every week in soapy water, the felt filter underneath hasn't got a mark on it so hasn't been washed yet. I would never pay what M/R were asking on their website (£199.99) but got it off Amazon for £100 cheaper. What I also like is every part of the machine is replaceable and all available on the M/R website. However, was a bit disappointed that belts and brushrolls are not available, you need to buy a complete new floorhead.

Over all though it's a great little cleaner, great for pet hair too, my cat seems to be shedding his body weight in fur daily at the moment!!!

Paulc

I have the same model as you don't use it often but when I do I'm always amazed at the amount of dirt in the bin, just wish when I emptied it the dirt would all fall out and not get stuck round the cyclone area requiring you to get your hands dirty!

Ultrapeformer

Do you mean dirty gets stuck on the piece of plastic connecting the cyclone to the outer wall of the bin? If so, just give the bin assembly a good shake before you empty it, it dislodges the dirt and you never have to touch anything.
