1st there's this Hoover celebrity. I do like it but it's bigger and heavier than I thought as well as being louder than I thought. But I do quite like it.</span>

I also...

I also got this off George as he swopped it for a DC03 I had. I still need to repair the cord rewind. I have given it a bit of a clean.

It goes with my Electrolux z165

Thanks Mr G....

Also...

I was also given this genuine Hoover hose which was attached to a old Tellus vacuum cleaner.

It appears to be a genuine Hoover hose as it has the logo on it but which model would go to originally?

Hoover hose?

James

I am afraid the hose is just a generic replacement to which a Hoover cuff has been added, looks like one off a 638 Senior or an 822 Connie, both of which had the blue stretch hose. As a I sure you are aware the plastic on these tends to discolour, just as it tends to do on the tools. I have one similar which was recovered off anther cleaner I bought and was able to use to make (almost) an authentic hose of an 822 myself.

I have one of those Celebrities myself and I must admit I do not like it at all, but then I don't like the air ride either. Does the pneumatic remote control work on yours? I was a bit tempted on this one as it has the original carpet/floor nozzle but decided to pass in the end. I always wondered why these US Hoovers are so noisy whereas cleaners like the Connie tend to be much quieter.

That's a nice Lux 185, these are just out of my "collecting window" although a do have a more BOL model, I was actually quite impressed by it as it is both light and compact.

Great finds. That's terrific. I'm always astonished when I find vintage machines like these. Folks go to thrift stores, consignment shops, and estate sales looking to find older good quality things and then when we do, we're amazed. But it's that unknown factor of what machine you may come across and if condition is any good that is the surprise.

Great job on your hunt towards your dream machines.
