This thread is for everyone to post pictures of their older metal base Convertible's. Anyone who has a pink 65 or 67, please post pictures!

Here's mine, my golden 65 which is also my rarest machine. New picture's will be posted tonight!

Jack,

That is one of the nicest pink 652's (or 65's) I've seen! I can hardly wait to find one, although I don't think I'll get my luck on eBay, as a pink model 67 just sold for $200!

I'm sure I'll find one someday at an estate sale, thrift shop, craigslist...you name it. I can hardly wait!

Here's My Model 35

This was one of the vault vacs awarded in the display contest at the Convention this year. Norm Brown won it and another Convertible for his display, and gave this one to me. Thanks again, Norm!!

And Here's My Model U4005

It was given to me by my cousin along with 4 other vacuums in May of this year. I gave it a good cleaning and it looks a lot better than it does in this photo.

Stretching the meaning of metal base convertible the 28 and it's brethren belong here, too

This is a Canadian Model 281 out of Hamilton.

Extending that convertible logic to a different method DAMs can join in on the fun...

My other DAM is the burnt orange and taupe model. I got it from a nice man in London who got it from his Mom. He should know better and probably regrets it now but he replaced it with a dyson. His loss...

The Concept 1 PowerDrive (Commande Automotrice in Quebec), while not a member of the Convertible Social Society, is kindly sitting in representing the DAM Powerdrive model, one of which I don't have yet. Dear Santa...

Sorry for the size...

Right now with the editing method I'm using, I can't shrink the image. I'll post smaller pictures soon.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I could just kick myself....

I just acquired a Convertible model 67 with an almost pristine outer vinyl bag, everything is in excellent shape. The only thing it is missing is the gold chrome strip above the headlight lens. Now, about six months ago, I had a model 66 sitting in my mother's garage in deplorable shape. It ran, but that was about all. The zipper was so badly rusted shut, there wasn't a chance in the world I could get at the already overloaded bag. That cleaner DID have the part I needed. I have a funny feeling the cleaner got thrown out in order to make room for the Model T. Does anyone know who might still have this chrome strip for the early convertibles? Also, I'd like to use some sort of vinyl preservative (i.e. ArmorAll) on the outer bag. Has anyone else done this?
