A bit out of sequence, I know, but I nearly forgot that in the midst of servicing the motor, we realized that the armature was just a few spins away from death. When was the last time you saw a brand new North Canton made Hoover Convertible armature?

This beautiful part now resides in my beautiful cleaner.

Getting this brushroll apart was NOT an easy task. A vice and vice grips were necessary.

Inspired by servicing my Convertible, John just had to give his storefront daily driver a little tuneup. Isn't it a gorgeous machine?

I wasn't the only visitor John had to the store in the last week. Last Friday, Robert Coonradt and his partner dropped by for a visit. Robert was very kind to bring John two beautiful Convertibles. First, we have this orange and white model from the early 80s.

It runs beautifully and only the brushroll needed a little attention. It received new end caps, bearings, and bristles. These end caps were a little bit crusted.....Penncrusted, one might even say.

Isn't that brushroll great looking? Every beautiful cleaner needs a good brushroll.
