Can the motor of the Silverado be used in a Golden J? I believe the Silverado were more powerful motors and I think the Golden J needs a boost.

The Answer

is no. The Silverado motor will not work in a Golden J. The motor is bigger and is the same motor size in the Super J. Golden Jubilee is a 1205 Motor with a 1205 and top trim difference.

Thank you for this. For some reason the Golden J is lacking the suction it once had. Might have to take it apart and tune her up.

Many times dust gets in the carbon brush tube - when you take the motor apart be sure to remove the carbon brush holders and wash them. Let them dry thoroughly. When dust gets in the brush tubes, it can make the carbon brush 'stick' somewhat in the tube - causing arching at the commutator and a slower motor speed.
