I just went through two PN-1's today. One I think had never been touched inside and the other was definitely serviced over the yrs. There are actually some small, machine shim washers on the carpet brush shaft ends, I'd never seen before.

So....where does one get bearings/brushes for the PN motors and the bushings for the carpet brush shaft? How about the vacuum motor itself; bearing/brushes for the G and the later 1205 motor?

Well...LOL, to answer my own question.

Most of you already know about this place, I'm sure. I went out this afternoon on a quest for the bearing washers that fit on each end of the carpet brush shaft. Didn't find them but found mica washers about the same ID. One PN-1 had the washers, the other did not. Amazing how much more lateral travel the one without had over the one with. They almost act like thrust washers, except for all the slop.

Old vacuum shop here had the PN-1 toothed belt...that was nice! Going for belt #2 tomorrow.

Here is the link I found for parts:

PN1

I just restored a PN1. I cleaned, waxed, and replaced the elbow, belt, brushroll and put a new cord on it as well as cleaned and checked out the motor and wrapped electrical tape around the wiring that goes over the metal elbow cover for added safety. Electrolux PNs are great. Will post a few pics.

Cool...It's a really powerful motor and the action is impressive. But then, I haven't been into any other canister brand's power nozzles. There is a factory cord cover BTW, where the cord goes over the elbow....at least on my two.
