Lux On/Off Switches

What's with Electrolux's on/off switches? I had to replace the one on my 1205 last night. I also had to replace the one on the first 1205 I owned, and also my Diamond Jubilee.

Is this a known problem area or something? It's an easy repair, and the switches aren't expensive, but it just has me wondering.

Switches

I think the switches installed after the G were way under-capacity. I have problems with the switch on the inside cover that shuts the motor off when the automatic control takes over and it is also the "no bag" safety switch. They seem to get stuck in on position quite often. Both are simple slide switches and I think the contacts burn. The G on back to LX, (interrupted by the XXX), and the XII switches were heavy duty brass, steel and hard insulating material devices that have lasted forever. I don't know what they used before the XII, - never seen earlier units in person.

When I got my 1521 the on off switch was burned to a crisp! I'm surprised it didn't catch fire or something. The model G only takes about half the amps, but has a heavier duty switch. Go figure? I guess they don't make em like they used to.
