Can you tell me

what the difference is between a Hoover Senior and a regular full sized Hoover. Both are convertible right? Are they UK only? I was wondering around when they were produced and why after so many years did they come out with Junior/Senior line, if anybody knows.

Two tone grey hoover senior 652A.

This was the first colour scheme of hoover uprights UK Pervivale made cleaners I remember seeing in the showrooms. It was the first senior with a two speed motor (420/650 watts) According to my official hoover illustrated parts book the grey model ran from 1962-6 when the colours were changed to vanilla (main body, bail and handle shafts) and lime green for the hood, furniture guard, handle grip. The bag was in a sort of dark green.

Over here in the UK it was probably the most expensive uprights on the market until the dialamatic or as we knew it the convertable appeared around 1967/8 in light chocolate and burnt orange.

I have the matching cleaners; junior model 1334A and both types of dustette; fixed nozzle and detachable tools model.

They are all in good condition and the uprights have all been fully serviced with the help of my hoover grease gun.

Regards, Walter, Shropshire (Middle of the middle part of England. UK)
