Hey Jimmy

Thank you very much. Now if I could only find the top for the brown one. Anyone have one they can spare???

Latest picture with all three machines. 3 down 6 to get.

If anyone has a copy of any of the other CB Manuals could you scan it and send me a copy please?

Just got a great surprise in the mail from Jimmy (rugsucker). Not only did he send me the swivel lock that we had discussed earlier in this thread for the CB2000, he also sent me a copy of the instructions for the first CB (1965). He has said I could scan and post them so here they are. Thanks again Jimmy - its very much appreciated.

page 2 - Interesting to note that the normal body is painted and you can get the stainless steel body as an option. It also has a heavy rubber hose.

CB

Wasn't sure you would have seen.Glad you like.I have only seen one painted CB(long ago in a lux service dept)and think it would have matched the G.To me the original folder(black/white with green blocks)looks like a white CB as for first L and hospital G.Also no name plate visible in pics.In any case the early ones are rarely seen, little known. The later blue/stainless was fairly common for comm buildings at one time.I have never seen rubber hose or wet pick up kit.I have heard stories that in 60s Elux and other companies were concerned with lawsuits if wet pick up vacs were misused/abused causing possible shock hazard.

Hey Philip:

I've seen one of the light blue CB's with the painted tank here many years ago and there was also the one pictured below with the stainless steel tank on ebay a while back. (They wanted way more than I could afford when shipping was factored in). The picture will give you an idea of colour though. On the one with the painted tank I saw the tank matched the motor housing (like the brown one does several frames above)

LOL just re-reading my last post - I skipped part of a word. It was surposed to read - On the one with the painted tank I saw the tank matched the motor housing (unlike the brown one does several frames above) Makes a difference.

CB nd CB2000 vacuums

I just absolutely love these vacuums. Why they discontinued these machines is beyond me. Granted, they were a heavy vacuum but they were a heavy duty one at that. I still own the last version of the CB2000's, the gray version with the Prolux power nozzle. I've even wrote the company about bringing them back but seems to be falling on deaf ears. They could redesign them and improve them I feel....

Sales of them were very low - everyone seems to want the uprights lately instead of a larger machine, even though they do a better job. When I was still working for Electrolux in the mid 90's we were selling 20 or more of the prolux uprights for every CB2000 we sold.

Electrolux commercials

Among other things this weekend I organised Elux literature from 4 places into 1 file box and folders. Was able to compare information in my brain cells with printed info and now realise the 3 wire Special did not use swivel lock on hose. Also 'beater bar' brush was also available on PN 4.Found a very little on 2 wet/dry Elux after CA.(Watch for your mailman)
