I've been doing some research on the Eureka Rotomatic power nozzle. I got it as part of a Power Team combo. It's got the brushroll that has two rows of brush strips along with two red/orange beater bars per side. I know there's a name for it but I can't remember what it's called.

I read that some folks have had really good results from using a certain generic brushroll with 4 rows of brushes but no beater bars. My impression from what I've read is that it performs better that the VG I and VG II. Is this true? Can someone shed more light on what this brushroll is and where I would get one?

Also, can any VG I or II go into the Rotomatic, or is there a special model specced for canister power nozzles? I have both a VG I and II in various Sanitaire uprights and was curious if I could use those.

Thanks!

The brushroll you have at the moment is the Distribulator, nothing special really, just the budget brushroll for Eureka products...

The 4-row I have in my Tristar PN (the black tubed one) is a custom job, the brusroll is meant to be for uprights only, and the previous owner modified the end caps to fit it, I did a similar job with a VGIII tube for my Rotomatic PN, but it's a pretty fiddly job really, so, not really recommended if you're not confident at putting such things together...

I'd just recommend putting a VGII brushroll in there (Hesco part no. E-534122) with VGIII brush strips (part no. E-529882), the generic VGII works best in flat-belt Tristar PNs rather than the Rotomatic PN, even the VGIII in my Rotomatic is overkill really... :)

Thank you for the info, Twocv...

It gives me more insight looking at all the options on one sheet. It appears that there is a version specific to power nozzles. That makes sense, as the PN belt is off to the side, whereas the belt on the Sanitaire upright attaches to the fan pulley right down the center of the brushroll.

So I will have to get the PN version of the VG I or II that has the pulley wheel on the side. Is that correct?

Thanks!

If you have a Rainbow R-1024 power nozzle, also made by Eureka, then these were the original brush rolls Rainbow had made available for this PN from 1974 to 1980:

R-1024 types A and B used the R-1368 Disturbulator.

All R-1024s from type D used the R-1781 Disturbulator.

I would think the "aluminum anodized body" Vibra-Groomer I would have applied to the equivalent PNs Eureka sold under the "Roto-Matic Power Team" branding (you know, on their "Brandywine" canisters ca. 1980). The Vibra-Groomer II-equipped Power Team nozzles first showed up around 1983.

Would the VG-I as used on the Brandywine canisters be a direct replacement for the R-1781 Disturbulator?

Here's a seller on ebay offering the generic VGII (got too busy enjoying yesterday's sunshine, which was nice), though the price is a bit higher than a genuine VGII from Hesco... :&#92
