DC40 step aside Turbopower is coming through, don't worry I have not gone Dyson mad, I just bought it to see if I like it, I am still a bagged baby!!

I am not sure what to expect, as far as I am concerned, it is a new toy to play with!

Many has complained about the weak brushrolls in Dyson vacuums (lack of agitation). But there was video in the youtube about DC41 mkII agitation. It looks VERY impressive! Check it out.

Yes it is very impressive it's also the best I've used on hard floors which also suggests it has lots of airflow. So excellent agitation and lots of airflow. The 2 ingredients needed to deep clean carpets

What amazes me is how on earth it can beat carpets without any beaters?!
Early DC40 models have very stiff bristles but dont really do it's good as the new 41 mk2, and the DC25 has two rows of thick, nylon bristles which kinda beat the carpet

I think most, if not all Dysons are good but most of them have the crappy brushbars/rolls.

Agree Tayyab, the suction on most Dyson's is fine, just let down by a crappy brushroll. Hence I prefer their cylinders to their uprights.

At the time I first used the DC40, I did think it was the highest performing Dyson I'd used to date. I didn't like the handle - it was too flexible. But it was a nice size and a good performer by Dyson standards [this post was last edited: 1/24/2015-05:45]

It doesn't look that crappy in the agitation video. That's what the brushroll is there for isn't it to agitate? I've not seen much better agitation than that. Maybe the metal royal is one but I can't think of many.

Anyway what's the point of arguing about it? I've seen how clean my carpets are after using the Dyson as clean if not cleaner than any other vacuum cleaner I've used previously including Sebo, Miele and Kirby. Not bad for a crappy cleaner with a crappy brushroll ;-)

Eeerrrrrr....because this thread is about Dyson's? Why would I start harping on about other brands? That's just what you do.

And if you re-read what I said, I think you'll find that I was agreeing with Tayyab AND mentioned the strong suction on Dyson cleaners. Both a pro and a con in the same post.

Haha it's always about Dyson flaws. I don't here anything about sebo flaws in any threads. But every time I put a post up about Dyson there has to be someone having a dig I don't understand why as they are now producing some excellent machines. Anyway I'm off to golf club now. I mean in threads about Sebo. I could constantly point out flaws over and over again. But I don't see the point. They make some nice cleaners. Not flawless though!

I have never once said that Sebo were flawless. Ever.

Go and re-read the Sebo E series thread in which I criticised the tool set up on the K series.

Now can we get this back on topic please before it becomes yet another thread that Marcus troll's, hijacks and fills with more unnecessary drivel.

Yes, I agree about the DC40 Chris
I had a play with the DC41 Mk2 in Currys and in comparison to my mate's 2012/13 DC41 Animal, it is WAY better.
Why?

Well it feels more solid and the pull back stabiliser is stiffer so you can wheel it around like the older ones
It feels quite chunky like the DC01 a little bit because of the width probably, but feels quite well made and looks stylish
The bristles are damn stiff, a little bit more than the DC40 I think
The handle flexes less now than the older ones, they must have made the plastic thicker or something, but it is not as solid as a DC14, but it will not break I am sure due to it's flexibility. So it still flexes but not as much as the older dc41, but a little bit more than the DC14
