As much as I miss the Sentria's orange accents, that looks pretty nice. The carbon fiber applique on the handle is a good way to hide the G4 decal and visually tie the thing together.

I did something similar with a G5 a few years ago. It has parts from a G3, G4, Ultimate G and Sentria. I keep thinking that someday, when I'm really, really bored I'll put the G5's original burgundy emptor on there, just to give it a more unified look but so far, I just haven't reached such an advanced state of boredom.

Thanks

Thanks to all who liked my modifications. The cover on this Sentria was so heavily scratched that I thought some sort of paint or film would help. Painting aluminum is tough. It was also good practice to handle the compound curves, edges and openings on the hood.

Yeah that actually does not look that bad. It matches along with the bag. I'd color match the front bumper of the brushroll to the top of the bag holder and that should tie it all together.

If I could find G-series Kirbys cheap enough I'd love to tweak a couple of them like this. It's really easy to work with them since mostly all the G series parts are interchangeable.

That’s really cool I found this one on google I know I should probably post it on the vintage forum but since we are talking about them I thought il post it here

1986-87 Heritage II with Aftermarket Shake Out Bag

The reasons I know this 1986-87 Kirby Heritage II is a Franken-Kirby are due to:
a) Heritage II Legend nozzle (or at least the belt lifter is)
b) aftermarket shake-out bag
c) it replaced the Mini Emtor disposable bag system, since the longer rear wheel shaft had not been changed (see 3rd picture) when the conversion to the large Emtor and shake out bag had occurred. Consequently, the large bare-chrome Emtor (picture 2; taken from anything ranging from the Classic 1CR to the Tradition 3CB) will not fit properly; this is remediable through the use of the shorter 4-1/2" long rear wheel shaft (102080) used on the Tradition 3CB and Heritage 1HD.

Nice

Imagine a Avalir 2 handle and bag on a g4. IDK it could be hideous but it's an idea. The person(seller) above Ben's post is an idiot. I messaged them telling them what the vacuum should look like. He needed money for something and that's it.

McKirby....

I love the tartan bag on that Heritage. Very classy. Do you wear a kilt when you run it? Now, we just need to figure a way to attach some drones and a chanter so you can play the bagpipes while cleaning house!

@ Lesinutah

I hate when sellers are stupid like that. They need money for a car or rent or something so they pick something from around their house and list it for the amount of money they need. Selling stuff does not work that way.

I see/create frankenkirbys all the time. At my store, customers usually don’t care about things matching on their kirbys so we use what parts are available. Sometimes they end up looking pretty wonky. Today I was working on a g4 with a ultimate g cord, a g6 bag, and an Avalir em tor.

Edgar,

What you had said also reminds me of the Family Matters episode "An Unlikely Match," when, while Carl is vacuuming, Urkel comes in with his invention, the "Urkel McVacPipes," which he built out of a Hoover Encore upright. Urkel's machine, not surprisingly, did not last long as it soon exploded!
