It seems Sears put the General Stores out

of business. Now, Amazon is putting Sears out too.
I was never a Sears guy, (my late brother was). But, they had wonderful paint.
Our K Mart has been there since about 1980. It replaced Grants. I hate to shop at Walmart, (I HAVE, but try not to).

I was just at a fairly well maintained Kmart, looks like they shifted most of the vac line to Kenmore branded vacs but they're the lower end of the ones they carry at Sears. Our Sears just expanded the vac department and also seems to be focusing more on Kenmore branded vacs.

I just read this week that Sears Holdings is putting another 28 Kmart stores on the chopping block between now and December with more to come in 2018.

Sounds the same as our Kmart, mostly Kenmore brand I think, but they still had Kenmores on display last I was there that were no longer sold, such as the orange canister.

Sears moved their vacuum department a few months ago. Moved it where the TV dept was and now have a smaller TV department in between there and the old vacuum dept which is now a big mattress dept. They also moved the small appliances and kitchenwares over to where the mattresses used to be and moved bedding into the vacated space there too. But I'm not seeing utensils and such along the walls like they had before.

Shrunken TV department is common, they said they wanted to shift the bulk of electronics sales to online a few quarters ago, makes sense TVs have low markup but with ever bigger screens take up lots of floor room. Oddly the Kmart has a massive amount of TVs a huge long aisle of TVs.

Ours Sears has redone the vacs again for a third expansion still all mostly Kenmore, also increased the microwaves section.

I think a lot is just the target demographics of the area,
