Hey everyone, I have one of the later style Kirby Zip brushes with the round head. It's been running really slowly though because there is hair all wrapped around on the inside of the turbine shaft. Does anyone know if there is a way to take apart the turbine to clean the shaft, or a good way to clean the hair wrapped around the inside? Thanks!

Do you like your Zip Brush?

I'm thinking about getting a Zip Brush for Freda (Sentria) and I was curious if you like it? I have a LazyBoy that is sort a short velour material type and my Ford Fusion has microfiber fabric. Do you like it? How well does it work for you?

Let me know before I shell out that kind of cash.

I think it's a neat toy, but like I mentioned above, its always getting pet hair and gunk wrapped on the shaft between the two turbine fans. I think the earlier style turbo brush that was available with the Kirby heritage does a better job though. I also think the sounds they make when attached to the hose is pretty cool.

Zip Brush

When I had my G4 i had a Zip Brush with the unit and it was ok. All but one of the couches in my house are leather and the stairs are hard wood, so i only used it to clean out the cats carpeted perch. Anyway, it would work ok but the brushes would constantly pop out. When I sold the G4 I included it in the sale of the unit, and when i bought my Diamond Editon i skipped out on getting the Zip Brush. I have a Rug Rat that i use with my VacuFlo system and i think its great! I think its the same as the turbo brush that kirby used in the 80's. I believe its much cheaper than the zip brush(about $50) and it does a great job (it has a geared belt). I've never tried it with my Diamond Edition but Im sure that it would work just as well with a Kirby as it does with my central vacuum

Rug Rat

I also feel the Rug Rat turbo brush is far more superior to the Zip brush. I had a Zip brush once with one of my Kirbys and found it uneffective, especially with pet hair. Check Hescoinc.com I'm sure they have the Rug Rats for less than 50.00.
