"and celebrating a new model with expanded capabilities"
So there will be a new model! I think the most interesting part though is where they say:
Now is the time to break old habits that may be holding us back and to reconnect with these tried and true practices.
I am sort of bettin the new machine will BE--EVOLUTION!!You have to wear your suit and tie to see it.Thanks-but no thanks will just wait for them to call on me-they will come!!!They always do when a new one comes out-and the salesman brags I am the first to buy it.I certainly hope its NOT bagless-if it has to be-at least a dump bag.If it is a bagless bin machine--won't buy no matter how evolved it is!Guess I will have to ask the salesman for the matching dirtmeter and proof book!
IIRC, one of the prototype names was the Avalier. I had seen a technical drawing on here that showed the cleaner having the bag at the rear and for the first time since the elusive "R" series a switch in the handle!
Backwards is the new forwards! Kirby needs to shed the pounds, the weight and cost of the machine are the two big reasons why people don't buy Kirby! Less weight = less manufacturing costs, too! A model based off the 500 series would be an excellent work-around for this!
Will be lighter but the past is gone and Kirby's new machine is the future sorry the 500 series would NEVER sell to the public look at Royal metal they are down to one model for the household version .
People see that style and say wow what a cool antique vacuum retro is done .
Retro is making a comeback, <span style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px;">Especially due to <span style="font-size: 18pt;"> <span style="font-size: 12pt;"> those<span style="font-size: 10pt;"> darn hipsters!!
</span></span></span></span>
A sleeker, modernized 500 series with LED lights and modern stuff would be interesting!
Put it on a diet, if it weighed about what a D-50 or D-80 did, and was as small as they were...but still was metal, and still self propelled! then they would have something, but most women hate them because of the size and weight..for a great big open area they are wonderful, but if you have stairs and or you have any strength issues...forget it!
