While visiting my favorite independent charity shop yesterday, I found a complete Ultimate G (non diamond) vacuum for 19.99. The set of attachments were to the left of it but not sure if they were included in the price. I saw one long wand, the floor nozzle, round brush with belt on it, upholstery tool, and more. Did not see a hose but did not search hard.
Vacuum was dirty (like always) but did not look abused or downright nasty. Outer bag looked good. I did not try it out as I was pressed for time.
There was also a G4 with no bag or carpet nozzle as it was semi-set up for shampoo operation. It was 19.99 also but could be bargained down since it is no longer a real vacuum.
Also there were a few G6 shampoo parts.
It is the Plaid Tag thrift store, SE corner of Park and Ave K in Plano TX. They directly benefit a home across the street for abused and battered women, as well as the homeless in the city. Great people and purpose! Still open each day 10-6 as they own the place and list items online.
Hope someone can save this UG- looks like a possible winner if it works.

You are lucky

No thrift stores are open here and my city is not one of the largest cities. Probably going to have to issue a stay at home from the federal level because people are just not obeying. I wish we could all work together to stop the spread.

I’ve seen on Facebook collectors still getting vacuums locally. It amazes me.

Collin county does not have a hard stay at home order as the number of cases per population is not very high (yet). This could change any time though.
Small shops stay open as they are independently owned and no employees are being paid. This particular store also is a major supplier to women in a shelter across the street and makes sure they get the bare essentials.
Larger thrift stores in the county are closed as the foot traffic was too low to be worth staying open.
So if anyone whats this Kirby, it would be wise to call before going, and doing so soon before any hard closures.

kenny

that has changed now. Texas governor abbot issued a state wide stay at home order actually a day before he went out. county sheriffs and local police are having to force some businesses to be closed because they wont on thier own.

he probably wont be able to go to a thrift store again for quite some time. county judges here in denton county had to force hobby lobby, jo anns and micheals to close because they created a "loop hole" justifying fabric for mask making as essential. the judge didnt buy it.

These are still there!

I went by the store today to donate a bunch of stuff as well as poke around some more. Both of these machines are still there.

I tried them out and BOTH WORK. Motors sound good, tech drive works on both.
Both are just very dusty and dirty, nothing gross or stinky or nasty. A spa and polish job will bring them back to their former glory.

The Ultimate G is 19.99. This has lots of attachments in a crate on a shelf way to the left. Not sure how much those are but they can be bargained - have to be cheap. No hose though.

The G4 does not have nozzle or bag to make it a usable vacuum and I suggested the owner to drop the price to $10 because of that. She really appreciated the inputs from a 'Kirby guy'.

This store was approved to remain open as an essential business as it directly helps the city's homeless and abused women, and this what I love about this place. The owners are sweethearts as well.

They are open regular days and hours as on google. Great prices on some vacs with potential!

Ultimate g

I have a very good condition one our original basement vacuum.
The thrift stores here are still closed. There putting a dumpster down the road for the community. I may be dumpster diving because I have some beyond rich and the rest upper middle class in our area. My neighbor is owner of the biggest dog food packing and distribution in United States. The other neighbor is a cardiologist dropped a million on a house and spent probably$250,000 tearing up the backyard and putting indoor pool in.
I may have my wife post if anyone is getting rid of vacuums donate to me. I imagine the good majority have central vacuums.

Dang

The Avalir anniversary edition is nice. The attachments usually sell for more than the machine itself.

The Ultimate G and attachments are gone as of today when I went.
The G6 is still there - would make a good working parts machine. She will probably take anything you offer since it has been there a while and has no bag or nozzle - just some shampoo parts.
