TIP: About those Kirby rug plates secured by two hinges: I am seeing so many examples whose hinge openings on the plate are broken due to excessive force in removing them from the hinges. So, to make it easier on you, you should bend the hinges with pliers if you want to remove or replace the rug plate.
After successfully mounting the new rug plate through the hinges and their openings, the two hinges on the nozzle should then be bent back with the pliers in order to secure the plate to the nozzle.
Applies to models 513 to Tradition... and to models Heritage, Heritage II and Legend II if with 13" nozzle.
